Description: Scholarship is open to sons, daughters, and grandchildren of sheriffs, former sheriffs, sheriff’s office employees or peace officers in the state of Texas who are currently enrolled in college.

Description: Scholarship is open to junior members of the American Legion who are high school seniors with at least a 3.0 GPA. Applicant must submit an essay on what they will do to make their college or university a better place, as well recommendations from their principal or guidance counselor, a member of the clergy, and two other adult citizens (a total of four recommendations).
