Scholarships for parents

If you are a parent, paying for college may be difficult. Some scholarship providers want to help parents (single parents and parents that are still together) attend college by providing scholarship. Below are scholarships open to parents.

Scholarships4Moms Scholarship

Closing Date: March 15, 2017
Description: Scholarship is open to legal U.S. residents who are at least 18 years of age and currently enrolled, or will be enrolled within the next three months, in a college or university in the United States. Applicant must be a mother or an expectant mother.

ASIST – Dallas Scholarship
Sponsor: Executive Women International – Dallas

Closing Date: March 31, 2017
Description: Scholarship is open to non-traditional students who live within the boundaries of the Dallas Chapter who are past high school age and who are either entering college or already enrolled in college. Applicant must have financial need and preference will be given to those individuals with children residing in the home.

Description: Scholarship is open to non-traditional students who live within the boundaries of the Columbus Chapter who are past high school age and who are either entering college or already enrolled in college. Applicant must have financial need and preference will be given to those individuals with children residing in the home.

ASIST – Spokane Scholarship

Description: Scholarship is open to non-traditional students who live within the boundaries of the Spokane Chapter (Spokane and Kootenai Counties) who are past high school age and who are either entering college or already enrolled in college. Applicant must have financial need and preference will be given to individuals with children residing in the home.

ASIST – Harrisburg Scholarship

Description: Scholarship is open to non-traditional students who live within the boundaries of the Harrisburg Chapter who are past high school age and who are either entering college or already enrolled in college. Applicant may be single parents, individuals just entering the workforce, or displaced workers.

Description: Scholarship is open to non-traditional students who live within the boundaries of the Los Angeles Chapter who are past high school age and who are either entering college or already enrolled in college. Applicant must have financial need and preference will be given to individuals with children residing in the home.

Valeant Dermatology Scholarship
Sponsor: Valeant Dermatology
Amount: $10,000
Closing Date: April 30, 2017
Description: Scholarship is open to students who have applied to, have been accepted to, or are currently attending an accredited, nonprofit, two- or four-year college, university, or advanced vocational or technical school in 2017. Applicant must have been diagnosed with and treated for a dermatologic condition. In addition to the general scholarships, there is a scholarship open to students who are mothers pursuing undergraduate or graduate degrees.

American Indian College Fund Scholarship

Description: Scholarships are open to American Indian/Alaska Native students. Scholarships are open to undergraduate or graduate students attending tribal colleges, as well as students attending any other accredited public and non-profit private college all across the United States. There are MANY scholarships available open to all American Indian/Alaska Native students. There are also specific scholarships mothers.

Capture the Dream Scholarship Fund

Description: Scholarship is open to Bay Area students who will be enrolled at an accredited, not-for-profit institution in the fall. Applicant must either be a single parent or a low-income minority student.

Scholarships4Dads Scholarship

Amount: $10,000
Closing Date: June 30, 2017
Description: Scholarship is open to dads who are currently enrolled, or will be enrolled within the next three months, in a college or university in the United States. Applicant must submit a short form to be entered for the scholarship.
