Scholarships for Parents

If you are a parent, paying for college may be difficult. Some scholarship providers want to help parents (single parents and parents that are still together) attend college by providing scholarship. Below are scholarships open to parents.

Young College Mothers Scholarship
Sponsor: Young College Mothers, Corp.
Amount: At least $1,000
Closing Date: October 1, 2022
Description: Scholarship is open to mothers currently enrolled in an undergraduate program pursuing an Associate’s, a Bachelor’s, or Vocational degree. Applicant must have a GPA of 2.9 or higher, be a resident of Alabama, Florida, or Georgia, and must be between the ages of 17-30 years of age.

NCJW/LA Scholarship Program
Sponsor: National Council of Jewish Women | Los Angeles
Amount: Up to $2,000
Closing Date: October 15, 2022
Description: Scholarships are open to students who live and attend school in the Greater Los Angeles area, including Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, and Ventura Counties. Applicant must be trying to better their lives through education in the aftermath of trauma, loss and other setbacks. There are scholarships open to all majors and specific scholarships for nursing majors, mothers, non-traditional students, education majors, and film/television/cinema/theater majors. Scholarship

Description: Scholarship is open to legal U.S. residents who are at least 18 years of age and currently enrolled, or will be enrolled within the next three months, in a college or university in the United States. Applicant must be a mother or an expectant mother.

Live Your Dream Awards
Sponsor: Soroptimist
Amount: Up to $10,000
Closing Date: November 15, 2022
Description: Scholarship is open to women who are the primary financial support for themselves and their dependents. Applicant must be enrolled in or has been accepted to a vocational/skills training program or an undergraduate degree program.

Single Parent Scholarship
Sponsor: Custody X Change
Amount: $1,000
Closing Date: December 31, 2022
Description: Scholarship is open to U.S. residents who are 18 years of age and have legal and physical custody of one or more minor child. Applicant must also be enrolled full-time at an accredited college and have a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
