The brave men and women of the Armed Forces sacrifice a lot for our nation. Many scholarship providers want to give back by offering scholarships open only to military service members, veterans, and their dependents. Below are scholarships for military service members, veterans, and military and veteran spouses and dependents.

Daniel E. Lambert Memorial Scholarship

Description: Scholarship is open to incoming and current college students who are residents of Maine and have a parent or grandparent who is a veteran.

Doctor Almo Sebastianelli Drum Corps Scholarship
Sponsor: The American Legion – Department of Pennsylvania
Amount: $500.00

Description: Scholarship is open to graduating high school seniors in Pennsylvania who are the child or grandchild of a living or deceased Pennsylvania Legionnaire. Applicant must be a member of a high school band who is going on to higher education majoring in music.

James V. Day Scholarship

Description: Scholarship is open to incoming and current college students who are residents of Maine. Applicant must have a parent or grandparent who is a member of the Maine American Legion.

John Edelman Scholars Scholarship

Amount: $10,000.00

Description: Scholarship is open to student veterans who will be enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate student during the upcoming academic year. Applicant must be pursuing a degree that will result in a career in mental health counseling or related field, including, but not limited to Psychology, Psychiatry, Social Work, or Behavioral Health.

ROTC Scholarships
Sponsor: AFCEA Educational Foundation
Amount: Up to $3,000
Closing Date: May 1, 2026
Description: Scholarship is open to Army, Navy (including Marine Corps option) and Air Force ROTC full-time sophomore and junior students with at least an overall 3.0 GPA. Applicant must be enrolled full-time in a degree major that is related to the mission of the AFCEA educational Foundation (Sciences, Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, and other STEM related majors).

War Veterans Scholarship

Description: Scholarship is open to persons on active duty in the uniformed military services, to honorably discharged U.S. military veterans (including Reservists and National Guard personnel) of the Enduring Freedom-Afghanistan or Iraqi Freedom Operations who are currently enrolled and attending classes in an Undergraduate program part-time or full-time in an eligible STEM major degree program at an accredited four-year college or university in the U.S.

Association of the United States Army Scholarships

Description: Scholarship is open to enlisted soldiers currently serving in the active Army, Army Reserve or Army National Guard of any rank OR honorably discharged enlisted soldiers from any component of the total Army. Blinded Veterans Association Scholarships

Description: Scholarships are open to spouses, dependent children, and grandchildren of blinded veterans who are incoming or current undergraduate or graduate students.

Educational Benefits for Children of Deceased Veterans and Others

Closing Date: May 15, 2026
Description: Program is open to residents of the state of Delaware between the ages of 16 and 24 years of age whose parent was a resident of Delaware at the time of death or declaration of mission in action or prisoner of war status.

PVA Scholarship
Sponsor: Paralyzed Veterans of America
Amount: $2,500.00
Closing Date: May 15, 2026
Description: Scholarship is open to PVA members, spouses, or unmarried children (under 24 years of age) who are a dependent (as defined by the IRS) of the member. Applicant must be a U.S. citizen and accepted and enrolled as a full-time or part-time student at an accredited U.S. college or university.

Military Veteran Scholarship

Description: Scholarship is open to U.S. military veterans, current service members in the U.S. military, or the children of a Veteran or current service member. Applicant must be currently enrolled in, or have been accepted to, an undergraduate or graduate program at an accredited university or college in the U.S.

JWV National Youth Achievement Grant Program
Sponsor: Jewish War Veterans of the United States of America
Amount: Up to $1,500
Closing Date: May 31, 2026
Description: Grant program is open to high school seniors who are direct descendants (children, grandchildren and great grand-children) of members in good standing. In addition to the academic scholarships, there is also a scholarship open specifically to students who have documented athletic achievement during their high school career.

Robert J. Trace Scholarship
Sponsor: The American Legion – Department of Pennsylvania
Amount: $500.00
Closing Date: May 31, 2026
Description: Scholarship is open to students 15 to 18 years of age who reside within the state of Pennsylvania. Applicant must be a child or grandchild of a Pennsylvania Legionnaire, decease Pennsylvania Legionnaire, or a child of a Pennsylvania soldier who was killed as a result of the war on terrorism.

TrophyCentral Sportsmanship & Compassion Scholarship
Sponsor: Trophy Central

Closing Date: May 31, 2026
Description: Scholarship is open to incoming college freshmen who had at least a 3.25 GPA in high school. Applicant must have demonstrated a unique or special form of sportsmanship, kindness or compassion. Although not required, special attention will be given to applicants who are the first in their generation to attend college or are entering a branch of the military (ex. ROTC).

Children of Fallen Patriots Foundation Scholars Program
Sponsor: Children of Fallen Patriots Foundation
Amount: Up to $6,250
Closing Date: Monthly – all documents due to the program team by the 15th of each month
Description: Program is open to children – whether natural, by marriage or adoption – who have lost a parent in the line of military duty, during combat or peacetime. All branches (Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, or Coast Guard) and all components (active, reserve and guard are covered).

Closing Date: Completed application is due 6-8 weeks before classes begin
Description: Program is open to residents of the state of Delaware between the ages of 16 and 24 years of age whose parent was a resident of Delaware at the time of death or declaration of mission in action or prisoner of war status.

Wells Fargo Veterans Emergency Grant Program
Sponsor: Wells Fargo
Amount: Up to $1,000
Closing Date: There is no application deadline, but grants will be awarded on an ongoing basis until funds are exhausted.
Description: Grant program is open to honorably-discharged veterans and spouses of disabled veterans who have served in the United States military. Applicant must be a student who is already enrolled in full-time undergraduate or graduate study.
