Al Young Sports Journalism Scholarship

Description: Scholarship is open to Asian American students who are AAJA student members. Applicant must demonstrate journalistic excellence and a strong interest in pursuing sports journalism as a career. Applicants must be an undergraduate enrolled with at least 12 credit units per semester at a junior college or university in the United States.

Anna Chennault Scholarship

Description: Scholarship is open to graduating high school seniors who have been accepted to a U.S. college or currently enrolled college students. Applicant must be committed to AAJA’s mission and candidates will be judged on the basis of academic achievement, demonstrated journalistic ability, commitment to the field of journalism and/or sensitivity to Asian American and Pacific Islander issues.

Legacy Scholarship Program

Description: Scholarships are open to women who have served or are serving honorably in the U.S. Army, U.S. Army Reserve, Army National Guard or the child of a woman who served honorably in the U.S. Army, U.S. Army Reserve or Army National Guard. Applicant must a current community college or certificate student with at least a 2.5 GPA or a current undergraduate or graduate student with at least a 3.0 GPA.

Vincent Chin Memorial Scholarship

Description: Scholarship is open to current student journalist. Applicant must write about the legacy of Vincent Chin in essay form.

White House Correspondents’ Association Scholarship

Description: Scholarship is open to AAJA student members who are current college students enrolled in an accredited U.S college or university.

Amazon Future Engineer Scholarship Program

Amount: Up to $40,000 (up to $10,000/year)

Description: Scholarship is open to high school seniors in the U.S. who are currently enrolled in or who have completed a high school or college dual degree course where computer science is a subject. Students who have not taken this course can opt-in to take an assessment offered by Amazon. Applicant must be planning to attain a bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, computer engineering, or other computer science related field of study.

Edison Scholars Program

Amount: Up to $12,500 per year, totaling $50,000 over four years

Description: Scholars program is open to high school seniors planning to pursue science, technology, engineering or math (STEM) at a four-year college or university on a full-time basis. Applicant must also have at least a 3.0 GPA and live in the Southern California Edison service territory.

Gateway to Research Scholarships

Description: Scholarships are open to students who are enrolled full-time in a Pharm.D program or a Baccalaureate degree program and have completed at least one year of the degree program in an ACPE accredited School of Pharmacy. Applicant must be nominated by a faculty member.

Kristy J. Hendrickson Memorial Scholarship

Description: Scholarship is open to female graduating high school seniors, high school graduates, current college undergraduates, or graduate level students who will be pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Civil-Environmental Engineering, Atmospheric Engineering, or Geologic Engineering. Applicant must reside in or attend school in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Louisiana, Texas or Florida.
