Scholarship Saturday – January 14, 2023

There are thousands of scholarships out there. Below you will find many scholarships, most with general eligibility requirements. My goal is to share some lesser-known scholarships with my readers every Saturday.

Description: Scholarship is open to current freshman, sophomores, and juniors who are enrolled full-time at any UNCF member institution, other HBCU, or any accredited four-year college or university. Appliant must major in one of the following academic disciplines/area of study: communications, computer science, biomedical science, engineering, chemical engineering, life sciences, microbiology, finance, global health, nursing, science technology, or sociology. ACEC California Scholarship

Description: Scholarship is open to California undergraduate (junior or senior status) and graduate students who will be enrolled in an engineering or land-surveying curriculum approved by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) during the Fall of 2023.

Description: Scholarship is open to graduating high school seniors from an IACAC member high school (Illinois) with a GPA of at least 3.0. Applicant must be planning to enroll as a full-time college freshmen at a post-secondary institution (preferably at an IACAC member institution).

Safe Jobs for Youth Month Poster Contest

Description: Contest is open to California teens between the ages of 14 and 18 years old. Contestant must create a poster focusing on workplace health safety as it relates to teens.

Determined Scholars Award

Description: Scholarship is open to high school juniors from a Tarrant County (TX) public school. Applicant must have demonstrated need for financial assistance and demonstrated ability to overcome obstacles.

Foot Locker Scholar Athletes Program

Description: Scholarship is open to Asian American students who are AAJA student members. Applicant must demonstrate journalistic excellence and a strong interest in pursuing sports journalism as a career.
