Visiting colleges is an important part of the college search process. College marketing materials, admission counselor presentations, and rankings can only give students a glimpse of what the college is like. Academic rigor, campus activities, and statistics such as average class size and graduate rates are very important. However, the campus community and the way a student feels as part of that community is also important. The only way for a student to truly experience a college is to visit.
