Scholarship Saturday – December 24, 2022

There are thousands of scholarships out there. Below you will find many scholarships, most with general eligibility requirements. My goal is to share some lesser-known scholarships with my readers every Saturday.

Description: Scholarships are open to women who are currently enrolled in an aviation or aerospace related degree program.

AMS Graduate Fellowships
Sponsor: American Meteorological Society
Amount: $25,000
Closing Date: January 1, 2023
Description: Fellowship is open to students entering their first year of graduate school in the fall of 2023 who are pursuing a degree in atmospheric or related sciences. Applicant must be a U.S. citizen or hold permanent resident status and have at least a 3.25 GPA.

Distracted Driving Scholarship

Closing Date: January 1, 2023
Description: Scholarship is open to current college students who are residents of or attending college in California. Applicant must submit an essay on a given topic related to distracted driving.

Dr. Joseph and Sonya Landholm Scholarship
Sponsor: Nebraska Veterinary Medical Association (NVMA)
Amount: $4,500
Closing Date: January 1, 2023
Description: Scholarship is open to veterinary students originally from Nebraska or from Nebraska licensed practitioners who are NVMA members.

JMJ Phillip Group College Scholarships

Amount: $1,000

Description: Scholarship is open to graduating high school seniors who will be majoring in STEM (science, technology, engineering, or math).

MIT THINK Scholars Program
Sponsor: MIT THINK
Amount: $1,000 budget, chance to win $500 scholarship, mentorship, and a trip to MIT
Closing Date: January 1, 2023
Description: Applicant must be a current high school student at a school in the United States. Applicant must submit a project proposal on a science, technology or engineering idea.

Shining Stars Scholarship

Amount: $1,000
Closing Date: January 2, 2023
Description: Sweepstakes is open to students who are enrolled in a degree program and are legal residents of the fifty United States or the District of Columbia. Applicant must fill out a short form, including answering a few questions about loans.

Harvey Fellows Program
Sponsor: The 28Twelve Foundation
Amount: $16,000
Closing Date: January 3, 2023
Description: Program is open to Christian students who are pursuing graduate studies at premier universities in fields considered to be underrepresented by Christians and who possess a unique vision to impact society through their vocations. Past successful applicants were preparing for careers in Business, Economics, Finance, International diplomacy, security, journalism and media, visual and performing arts, public policy, and applied and theoretical sciences. Students from all nations are encouraged to apply.

Lois Britt Memorial Pork Industry Scholarship

Description: Scholarship is open to current undergraduate students in a two-year swine program or four-year college of agriculture and a U.S. citizen.

ARRL Foundation Scholarship Program

Description: Scholarship is open to incoming and current college students. Applicant must be a licensed radio amateur. There are multiple scholarships – see website for details.

IAAP Education Foundation Scholarship

Description: Scholarship is open to graduating high school seniors, graduate, and current undergraduate students from Illinois who are/will be majoring in Civil Engineering, Engineering Science, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Geology, Geological Engineering, Mineral Science, Mining Engineering, or a similar discipline.

NACE Academic Scholarships Program

Description: Scholarship is open to full-time college students who are enrolled in a program related to corrosion or corrosion control.

AWSC Scholarship
Sponsor: Association of Wisconsin Snowmobile Clubs

Description: Scholarship is open to graduating high school seniors who are current members in the AWSC and plan to pursue further education in an accredited two or four-year institution of higher learning.

Diller Teen Tikkun Olam Awards
Sponsor: Helen Diller Family Foundation
Amount: Up to $36,000
Closing Date: January 5, 2023
Description: Award is open to Jewish teens who are between the ages of 13 and 19 at the time of nomination. Student must have demonstrated impressive leadership and are actively engaged in community service projects that embody the value of tikkun olam (repair of the world).

GE – Reagan Foundation Scholarship Program
Sponsor: Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation & Institute and GE
Amount: $10,000
Closing Date: January 5, 2023
Description: Scholarship is open to high school seniors who demonstrate leadership, drive, integrity, and citizenship at school, at the workplace, and in the community. Applicant must also demonstrate financial need.

Predoctoral Fellowship
Sponsor: Ford Foundation
Amount: $27,000 for three years
Closing Date: January 5, 2023
Description: Fellowship is open to all citizens, U. S. nationals, and permanent residents of the United States, as well as individuals granted deferred action status under the DACA program. Applicant must be enrolled or planning to enroll in an eligible research-based program leading to a Ph.D. or Sc.D. degree at a non-proprietary U.S. institution of higher education. Applicant must be committed to a career in teaching and research at the college or university level. Membership in one or more of the following groups whose underrepresentation in the American professoriate will be considered a positive factor when choosing candidates: Alaskan Natives, Black/African-Americans, Mexican Americans/Chicanas/Chicanos, Native American Indians, Native Pacific Islanders, and Puerto Ricans.

Pride Foundation Scholarships

Description: Applicant must be a resident of the Northwest (Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, or Washington) and pursuing post-secondary education. Applicant must also be LGBTQ or a straight ally student leader.

College Achievement Awards
Sponsor: Polanki
Amount: Up to $2,000
Closing Date: January 9, 2023
Description: Scholarship is open to college juniors and seniors, and current graduate students (preferred GPA of at least 3.0) who are either Wisconsin residents or attending a Wisconsin college or university. Applicant must be of Polish ancestry OR have studied Polish language, history, society, culture OR significantly engaged in Polish culture. In addition to the general scholarships, there are scholarships open to students engaged in science, music, dance, or theatre.

Edison Scholars Program
Sponsor: Edison International
Amount: Up to $12,500 per year, totaling $50,000 over four years
Closing Date: January 9, 2023
Description: Scholars program is open to high school seniors planning to pursue science, technology, engineering or math (STEM) at a four-year college or university on a full-time basis. Applicant must also have at least a 3.0 GPA and live in the Southern California Edison service territory.
