Scholarship Saturday – January 1, 2022

There are thousands of scholarships out there. Below you will find many scholarships, most with general eligibility requirements. My goal is to share some lesser-known scholarships with my readers every Saturday.

Ron Brown Scholar Program

Closing Date: January 9, 2022
Description: Scholars program is open to African-American/Black high school seniors who excel academically and demonstrate a keen interest in public service, community engagement, business entrepreneurship and global citizenship.

College Achievement Awards
Sponsor: Polanki
Amount: Up to $2,000
Closing Date: January 10, 2022
Description: Scholarship is open to college juniors and seniors, and current graduate students (preferred GPA of at least 3.0) who are either Wisconsin residents or attending a Wisconsin college or university. Applicant must be of Polish ancestry OR have studied Polish language, history, society, culture OR significantly engaged in Polish culture. In addition to the general scholarships, there are scholarships open to students engaged in science, music, dance, or theatre.

Kelly Lynn Lutz Memorial Scholarship
Sponsor: Kelly Lynn Lutz Foundation
Amount: $2,000
Closing Date: January 10, 2022
Description: Scholarship is open to current college students in Kansas and Missouri who have lost at least one parent (biological or non) to cancer before the age of 22. Applicant must have an interest in education, arts, environment, math, or science.

Love Your Career Scholarship

Closing Date: January 10, 2022
Description: Scholarship is open to current college students. Applicant must submit an essay describing at least three steps that they plan to take in the next year to start a path towards having a career that they love.

NEHS Scholarships
Sponsor: National English Honor Society for High Schools
Amount: Up to 5,000
Closing Date: January 10, 2022
Description: Scholarship is open to graduating high school seniors who hold membership in active chapters of NEHS for one year.

Undergraduate Transfer Scholarship
Sponsor: Jack Kent Cooke Foundation
Amount: Up to $40,000
Closing Date: January 10, 2022
Description: Scholarship is open to current students at accredited U.S. community colleges who have plans to enroll full-time in a baccalaureate program at an accredited college in fall of 2022. Applicant must have at least a 3.5 GPA and demonstrate significant unmet financial need. There is no citizenship requirement but student must have attended an accredited two-year institution in the United States.

Live Mas Scholarship
Sponsor: Taco Bell Foundation
Amount: Up to $25,000
Closing Date: January 11, 2022
Description: Scholarship is open to legal residents of the 50 United States and the District of Columbia, between 16 and 24 years of age, who are on track to apply for accredited post-high school/post-secondary educational programs or is currently enrolled in college. Applicant must submit a video (two minutes or less) that tells the story of their life’s passion.

National FFA Scholarship
Sponsor: National FFA Organization Program
Amount: Varies
Closing Date: January 11, 2022
Description: Scholarship program is open to high school seniors and current college students who are under 23 years of age. Applicant must be a current FFA member.

Fund for Education Abroad Scholarship
Sponsor: Fund for Education Abroad
Amount: Up to $10,000
Closing Date: January 12, 2022
Description: Scholarship is open to U.S. citizens and permanent residents who are currently enrolled as an undergraduate at a college or university in the U.S. Applicant must be planning to study abroad and program must be eligible for credit at the student’s educational institution.

Kittie M. Fairey Scholarship
Sponsor: The Kittie Moss Fairey Scholarship
Amount: Varies
Closing Date: January 12, 2022
Description: Scholarship is open to South Carolina residents who are high school seniors and have at least a 3.0 GPA. Applicants’ parents must have a household adjusted gross income not exceeding $40,000 and applicant must be planning to attend college in South Carolina.

Blaze Your Own Trail Scholarship

Amount: $1,000
Closing Date: January 14, 2022
Description: Scholarship is open to graduating high school seniors and current undergraduate and graduate students. Applicant must submit an essay on a challenge they have faced, how they overcame it, and how the experience affected them.

Diversity Advancement Scholarship
Sponsor: Architects Foundation
Amount: Up to $20,000
Closing Date: January 14, 2022
Description: Scholarship is open to high school and undergraduate minority students who are entering, enrolled in, or transferring into a NAAB-accredited undergraduate architecture program.

GFOA Scholarships
Sponsor: Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA)
Amount: Varies
Closing Date: January 14, 2022
Description: Scholarships are open to students who plan to pursue a career in state/provincial or local government finance. Multiple scholarships available with different requirements. See website for details. In addition to the general scholarship, there is a scholarship specifically to minority students.

MCCF Scholarships
Sponsor: Montgomery County Community Foundation
Amount: Varies
Closing Date: January 14, 2022
Description: Scholarships are open to high school seniors and current college students who are residents of Montgomery County, Indiana. There are many scholarships – see website for details.

NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship
Sponsor: National Collegiate Athletic Association
Amount: Up to $10,000
Closing Date: January 14, 2022
Description: Scholarship is open to student athletes who have achieved in their last year of varsity-level intercollegiate fall athletics at an NCAA school. Applicant must be nominated by the faculty athletic representative or athletic director and be enrolling as a full- or part-time graduate student. Applicant must have a minimum 3.2 GPA.

Ohio Soybean Council Scholarship Program
Sponsor: Ohio Soybean Council
Amount: Up to $5,000
Closing Date: January 14, 2022
Description: Scholarship is open to undergraduate and graduate students at an Ohio college or university who are studying in a science or agricultural field.

Payette Sho-Ping Chin Memorial Academic Scholarship
Sponsor: The American Institute of Architects
Amount: $10,000
Closing Date: January 14, 2022
Description: Scholarship is open to women studying architecture within a NAAB accredited bachelor or master’s degree program. Applicant must be entering at least their third year of undergraduate or any level of graduate study.

Profile in Courage Essay Contest
Sponsor: John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum
Amount: Up to $10,000
Closing Date: January 14, 2022
Description: Contest is open to United States high school students in grades nine through twelve. Applicant must submit an essay on a given topic related to an act of political courage.

ProNet David W. Lakamp AIA Scholarship
Sponsor: The American Institute of Architects
Amount: $5,000
Closing Date: January 14, 2022
Description: Scholarship is open to four-year pre-professional Architecture students or first year students in a NAAB accredited M.Arch/D.Arch degree program. Applicant must demonstrate an interest/or concentration in practice or risk management.

Samuel Huntington Public Service Award

Amount: $20,000
Closing Date: January 14, 2022
Description: Award is open to graduating college seniors to pursue one year of public service anywhere in the world. Applicant must develop a proposal for public service.
