Scholarship Saturday – October 2, 2021

There are thousands of scholarships out there. Below you will find many scholarships, most with general eligibility requirements. My goal is to share some lesser-known scholarships with my readers every Saturday.

Description: Scholarship is open to legal residents of the 50 United States and the District of Columbia who are 16 years of age or older. Applicant must submit an essay describig a lesson they learned from a character in a book or a person in history.

Innovation in Education Scholarship

Closing Date: October 21, 2021
Description: Scholarship is open to students currently enrolled in high school or college within the United States with at least 3.0 GPA. Applicant must be a citizen of, permanent resident, or hold a valid student visa in the United States or Canada. Applicant must have designed an innovative project that makes a difference in the lives of others and submit an essay describing the goal of the particular project and provide supporting documentation.

$2,000 “No Essay” College Scholarship

Description: Scholarship is open to high school, college, and graduate students and those planning to enroll within 12 months. Applicant must be a legal resident of the United States or an international student with a valid visa. Applicant must log in to Niche or create a free account to apply for the scholarship.

Cappex Easy College Money Scholarship

Description: Scholarship is open to high school and college students in the United States who are/will be enrolled in college within the next 12 months. Applicant must create a Cappex profile (if they don’t have one already), share about their extracurricular activities, leadership, and volunteer activities, and then search Cappex for scholarships.

Discover Student Loans Scholarship

Description: Scholarship is open to high school seniors and undergraduate students who are 16 years of age or older. Applicant must sign up to receive helpful tips on planning and paying for college and they will be automatically entered into the sweepstakes.

National CPR Foundation Healthcare and Education Scholarship Program

Amount: $500

Description: Scholarship is open to incoming and current college students who are at least 18 years of age and have a minimum GPA of 2.8. Applicant must be currently or planning to be enrolled in school majoring in a healthcare or education-related field.

Nitro College Scholarship

Description: Scholarship is open to legal residents of the United States and the District of Columbia who are enrolled in an accredited college or university during the 2021-2022 school year. Applicant must complete a scholarship survey, and answer three short-answer questions.

Patriot’s Pen Competition

Description: Sweepstakes is open to legal residents of the 50 United States and the District of Columbia who are of the age of majority in the jurisdiction in which they reside and who are students, parents, guidance counselors, or financial aid officers at the time of entry. School Survey Sweepstakes

Description: Sweepstakes is open to current high school students, high school alumni who graduated within the last four years, and the parents of those students or alumni. Individual must take a survey on a United States high school.

Second Career Scholarship

Description: Scholarship is open to students enrolled full-time in a mortuary science program at an ABFSE accredited school in North America who is not related to an owner of a funeral home currently in operation.

SkillPointe Foundation Scholarship

Description: Scholarship is open to U.S. citizens of the 50 United States and the District of Columbia who are 16 years of age or older. Applicant must be pursuing non-credit courses at an approved community college, technical college, or other training institution.

Voice of Democracy Scholarship Competition

Description: Program is open to students in grades 9-12 who are enrolled in a public, private or parochial high school or home study program in the United States, its territories and possessions. Applicant must submit a 3-5 minute essay on this year’s theme; “America: Where Do We Go From Here?”

Zombie Apocalypse Scholarship

Closing Date: October 31, 2021
Description: Scholarship is open to students 13 years of age or older who are legal residents of the 50 United States or the District of Columbia who are currently enrolled (or will enroll no later than the fall of 2027) in an accredited post-secondary institution of higher education. Applicant will need to submit a short response to a given prompt.

American Indian Services Scholarship

Description: Applicant must be one-quarter (1/4) Northern-Native American Indian and enrolled in a university, junior college, or technical school.

Athena Penny Scholarship

Description: Scholarship is open to students studying abroad at any of Athena’s campuses overseas. Applicant must be accepted into an Athena short-term, semester or year-long abroad program. Applicant must submit an essay on why he/she selected the specific program location.

Congressional App Challenge

Closing Date: November 1, 2021
Description: Challenge is open to U.S. students in middle school or high school who live in a Congressional district that is participating (check website for details). Applicant must create any type of app they like on any platform they like.
