August 2018 Scholarships

Attending college can be quite expensive for students and their families. Luckily, there are many college scholarships and contests available to help pay for a college education. Students should seek out and apply for scholarships in which they meet the eligibility requirements. Below are a handful of scholarships with August 2018 due dates. Distracted Driving Awareness Scholarship

Description: Scholarship is open to incoming and current college students who will be enrolled during the Fall 2018 semester. Applicant must submit an essay on a given topic related to distracted driving.

Financial Freedom Scholarship

Closing Date: August 1, 2018
Description: Scholarship is open to citizens and residents of the United States (and its territories and possessions) and Canada who will be enrolled at an accredited institution of higher learning full-time for Fall Semester 2018. Applicant must submit an essay on financial freedom.

First Step Scholarship

Amount: $2,500
Closing Date: August 1, 2018
Description: Scholarship is open to incoming and current college students who will be attending college during the fall of 2018. Applicant must submit an essay on distracted driving habits.

Youth Forward Scholarship

Amount: $500
Closing Date: August 1, 2018
Description: Scholarship is open to high school sophomores, juniors, and seniors, and college freshmen. Applicant must submit an essay on a topic related to volunteerism.

Race Entry Student Scholarship

Closing Date: August 15, 2018
Description: Scholarship is open to incoming and current college students attending an accredited university inside the USA who have run in an organized race (5K, 10K, half marathon, or marathon).

$1,000 August Scholarship

Description: Scholarship is open to high school and college students, as well as adults looking to attend college in the next year. Applicant must complete a form to login or register for a free account.

Outdoor Entrepreneur Scholarship

Description: Scholarship is open to incoming and current college students who are currently part of an outdoor organization on campus or plan on starting an outdoor business upon graduation.

CoffeeForless.com “Hit the Books” Scholarship

Amount: Up to $500
Closing Date: August 25, 2018
Description: Scholarship is open to students aged 18-25 who are enrolled in an accredited college or university. Applicant must submit a personal essay on the importance of education in their lives and how the scholarship money will assist their student goals.

Clean GIF Scholarship Contest

Amount: $2,000
Closing Date: August 31, 2018
Description: Scholarship is open to students enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate student at an accredited college or university in the U.S. or Canada. Submissions from international students are welcome. Applicant must create a lightly GIF that shows a fast way to get your space cleaned.

Leaders Save Lives Scholarship Program
Sponsor: American Red Cross
Amount: Up to $2,500
Closing Date: August 31, 2018
Description: Scholarship is open to all high school and college students. Applicant must host an American Red Cross blood drive between June 1 and August 31, 2018.

Make Me Laugh Scholarship

Amount: $1,500
Closing Date: August 31, 2018
Description: Scholarship is open to students 13 years of age or older who are legal residents of the 50 United States or the District of Columbia and who are currently enrolled (or will enroll no later than the fall of 2024) in an accredited post-secondary institution of higher education. Applicant must share an incident in their life, funny or embarrassing (fact or fiction) that will make us laugh.

Peterson’s Summer $1,000 Scholarship

Amount: $1,000
Closing Date: August 31, 2018
Description: Sweepstakes is open to legal residents of the 50 United States and the District of Columbia who are at least 15 years of age. Unfortunately, residents of the state of Maine are not eligible to participate. Applicant must sign up free with Peterson’s.
