About: 75% of your generation says the government isn’t listening to them.
How to enter: Amplify your voice and rally your friends to Grab the Mic! Democracy only works for the people, when as many people are involved. Everyone has their part to play in this movement so help your friends find their role by shouting them out online, in your community, and on the national stage. Each action completed on the campaign page equals one entry.
We Are Able: Make a Sign Highlighting Your Best Ability to Reduce Stigma Around Disability!
Scholarship Amount: $2,000
Closing Date: January 31, 2018
About: Students with disabilities are 2 to 3 times more likely to be bullied than their non-disabled peers.
How to enter: A good way to reduce stigma around disability is giving people with and without a disability a chance to talk about what they are good at. So make a sign that says, “My best ability is _________,” fill in the blank, and challenge friends to do the same. Unlimited entries.
Feeding Better Futures: Share a Photo of a Food or Sustainability Issue in Your Home, School, or Community
Scholarship Amount: $5,000
Closing Date: February 28, 2018
About: 1 in 8 people on Earth struggle with hunger, including 13 million kids and teenagers in America and 2.5 million Canadians who live without secure access to food.
How to enter: Use DoSomething’s guide to spot a problem around food waste, hunger relief, or another issue. Take a photo of the problem and suggest a creative solution your home, school, or community could use. Unlimited entries.
Team Up, Dream Up: Make a Sign to Boost Your Friend’s Confidence
Scholarship Amount: $2,500
Closing Date: March 15, 2018
How to enter: Use DoSomething’s easy instructions to make a sign encouraging your friend to follow their dreams. Upload a photo of yourself with your sign and you’ll both be automatically entered to win the scholarship! Unlimited entries!
Eligibility Information
While there is no GPA, test score, or essay requirements, there are some eligibility requirements students must meet to enter any of the above scholarship opportunities:
- US or Canadian citizens, regardless of residence OR reside in the U.S. or Canada.
- 13 to 25 years of age.
