Do you like making a difference in your school or community? If you do, DoSomething has many campaigns to make a difference, and for participating, you will be entered to win a scholarship! Below are campaigns from DoSomething accepting entries in May.

Make a “Happy Ramadan” Card for Muslims in Your Community
Scholarship Amount: $5,000
Closing Date: May 15, 2017
About: Muslim Americans across the country are reflecting on community, compassion, and mercy during the 30 days of Ramadan this summer.
How to enter: Create a “Happy Ramadan” card for Muslim neighbors in your community. For each card, applicant can receive one entry for the scholarship. Students can earn unlimited entries.

Post a Note to Brighten Someone’s Day!
Scholarship Amount: $1,500
Closing Date: May 15, 2017
About: By age 13, about 53% of American girls are unhappy with their bodies. By 17, it’s 78%.
How to enter: Post a sticky note to make someone smile! Post notes with positive messages on bathroom mirrors and other places around your school. It will improve others’ self-esteem and you’ll automatically be entered to win a scholarship. Unlimited entries.

Crash Text Dummy: Prevent Texting and Driving
Scholarship Amount: $5,000
Closing Date: May 31, 2017
About: Texting and driving is a major cause of crashes. However, 4 in 10 teens still do it.
How to enter: Sign up to receive tips from DoSomething to ask friends to not text-and-drive for your chance at winning the scholarship.

Encourage Friends to Fight Propaganda and Defend Science
Sponsor: DoSomething
Amount: $3,000
Closing Date: May 31, 2017
Description: 97% of scientists agree that climate change is real and humans are a major cause of it. Despite this scientific consensus, a group is sending to science teachers a textbook that denies humans’ effect on climate change. Design a science textbook cover that encourages your teacher to teach the truth about climate change. You’ll defend science, fight propaganda, and be entered to win a scholarship.

Take a Personality Quiz to See If You’re Their Type
Scholarship Amount: $2,500
Closing Date: June 15, 2017 (opens May 15, 2017)
About: Someone’s got their eye on you – are you their type?
How to enter: Take a short personality quiz to find out and you’ll be entered to win the scholarship.

Eligibility Information

While there is no GPA, test score, or essay requirements, there are some eligibility requirements students must meet to enter any of the above scholarship opportunities:

  • US or Canadian citizens, regardless of residence OR reside in the U.S. or Canada.
  • 13 to 25 years of age.

The above scholarship contests are easy to enter and you’ll be making a difference. Check them out and participate before the closing dates.
