Do you like making a difference in your school or community? If you do, DoSomething has many campaigns to make a difference, and for participating, you will be entered to win a scholarship! Below are campaigns from DoSomething accepting entries in April.

Give a Spit About Cancer Guide: Share a Digital Guide to Help Save Lives
Scholarship Amount: $3,000
Closing Date: April 30, 2017
About: 70% of people who need a bone marrow transplant rely on a complete stranger for a donation. Beyond that, black people and other people of color have a much harder time finding a donor match.
How to enter: Share a digital guide about the importance of joining the bone marrow registry with three friends for your chance at the scholarship.

Rinse, Recycle, Repeat: Create a Recycling Bin to Reduce Waste
Scholarship Amount: $5,000
Closing Date: April 30, 2017
About: Nearly half of Americans don’t regularly recycle their beauty and personal care products. That’s a major reason these items account for a significant amount of landfill waste.
How to enter: Create a fun bathroom recycling bin that encourages people to recycle their empty beauty and personal care products. Use the tips provided to make an eye-catching bin and place it in a bathroom near you for a chance to win the scholarship.

Suspended for What?: Advocate – Talk to Your School About Fairer Discipline Policies
Scholarship Amount: $2,000
Closing Date: April 30, 2017
About: Students around the country can be suspended for minor things like tardiness or breaking the dress code. Unfair, right?
How to enter: Make sure your school isn’t using unfair or harsh discipline policies by talking to your principal or administrator and advocating for improvements for a chance to win the scholarship.

Suspended for What?: AMPLIFY – Share Stories to Increase Fairness in School
Scholarship Amount: $3,000
Closing Date: April 30, 2017
About: At 12 years old, Alexas was arrested…. FOR DOODLING ON HER DESK. This stuff happens all the time: Despite the same rates of misconduct as white students, students of color are way likelier to receive harsh and unfair punishment.
How to enter: Share stories like Alexa’s on social media to encourage schools to adopt fairer policies for your chance to win the scholarship.

Crash Text Dummy: Prevent Texting and Driving
Scholarship Amount: $5,000
Closing Date: May 31, 2017
About: Texting and driving is a major cause of crashes. However, 4 in 10 teens still do it.
How to enter: Sign up to receive tips from DoSomething to ask friends to not text-and-drive for your chance at winning the scholarship.

Make a “Happy Ramadan” Card for Muslims in Your Community
Scholarship Amount: $5,000
Closing Date: June 10, 2017
About: Muslim Americans across the country are reflecting on community, compassion, and mercy during the 30 days of Ramadan this summer.
How to enter: Create a “Happy Ramadan” card for Muslim neighbors in your community. For each card, applicant can receive one entry for the scholarship. Students can earn unlimited entries.

Eligibility Information

While there is no GPA, test score, or essay requirements, there are some eligibility requirements students must meet to enter any of the above scholarship opportunities:

  • US or Canadian citizens, regardless of residence OR reside in the U.S. or Canada.
  • 13 to 25 years of age.
