Scholarship Saturday – April 1, 2017

There are thousands of scholarships out there. Some are large scholarships that are well publicized, while others are lesser known. My goal is to share some lesser-known scholarships with my readers every Saturday.

Constitution Connection Contest
Sponsor: Bill of Rights Institute
Amount: $1,000
Closing Date: April 2, 2017
Description: Contest is open to legal residents of the 50 United States and the District of Columbia who are in school and are 18 years of age or older OR are 13 years or older and have received permission in writing from their parents or legal guardians. Unfortunately the contest is unavailable to students in Maryland, Nebraska, and Arizona. Every two weeks, vote yes or no to a prompt given on the Bill of Rights Institute Constitutional Connection webpage and provide a supporting constitutional argument for the position. A winner will be selected every two-week and will receive a $25 Amazon gift card. Each bi-weekly winner will have a chance to win the $1,000 cash scholarship. The contest ends on May 26, 2017.

Anthem Essay Contest
Sponsor: Ayn Rand Institute
Amount: Up to $2,000
Closing Date: April 11, 2017 (extended from March 29, 2017)
Description: Contest is open to students in grades 8-10. Applicant must submit an essay that answers a given question related to the book. There is no citizenship requirements to apply.

Americans United Essay Contest
Sponsor: Students for Church| State Separation
Amount: Up to $1,500
Closing Date: April 15, 2017
Description: Contest is open to all United States high school juniors and seniors. Applicant must submit an essay on one of four given topics related to separation of church and state.

Annual Senior Care Scholarship
Sponsor: A Place for Mom
Amount: $1,000
Closing Date: April 15, 2017
Description: Scholarship is open to students enrolled in an associate’s degree, bachelor’s degree or graduate level program in a medical, nursing or social sciences related major. Applicant must have the intent of pursing a career that involves working with senior citizens.

Army Scholarship Foundation Scholarships
Sponsor: Army Scholarship Foundation
Amount: Up to $2,000
Closing Date: April 15, 2017
Description: Scholarships are open to sons, daughters, or spouses of regular active duty, active duty Reserve, or active duty National Guard U.S. Army members in good standing, OR sons or daughters of former U.S. Army members who received an honorable discharge or medical discharge, or who were killed while serving in the U.S. Army. Applicant must be a high school senior, high school graduate, or registered undergraduate student.

Band With Success Scholarship Award
Sponsor: Larson Jewelers
Amount: $1,000
Closing Date: April 15, 2017
Description: Scholarship is open to students, age 16 and older, attending high school or enrolled in undergraduate, graduate, and vocational programs in the U.S. Applicant must submit an essay listing their five favorite things in jewelry, fashion and/or weddings.

Best Value Schools STEM Scholarship for Women
Sponsor: Best Value Schools
Amount: $2,000
Closing Date: April 15, 2017
Description: Scholarship is open to female students currently attending or enrolled at an accredited post-secondary institution (undergraduate or graduate) who are majoring in a science, technology, engineering or mathematics program (STEM). Only the first 50 completed applications received will be considered.

Beth E. Marcus Scholarship
Sponsor: Reformed Church in America
Amount: Up to $1,000
Closing Date: April 15, 2017
Description: Scholarship is open to women members of the Reformed Church of America who are preparing for ministry through theological education.

BHW Scholarship

Description: Scholarship is open to women who are graduating high school seniors and current college students pursuing an undergraduate or master’s degree and are majoring in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics during the 2017 school year.

Description: Scholarship is open to students enrolled in an accredited undergraduate or graduate degree program in the United States or Canada, majoring in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics. Applicant must submit an essay on a company that exemplifies one of many given core values.
