Top Cool Tools Which Will Help You to Become a Top Student - Guest Blog by Linda Jellison | JLV College Counseling BlogHelping students become better learners is the foundation of teaching. Every student has the responsibility though to take charge of their own education. If you wait for your teacher to do all the work, you are going to wait a long time. Your toolbox should consist of more than a free online grammar check. There are some thing you are going to have to do yourself. With these cool tools, you will be able to be better prepared for your studies.

Edmodo
The world we live in is moving faster and everything is technology based. Edmodo is great because it provides the social media experience without wasting your time. With this tool, you can submit your assignments and have your teacher score your assignment online. This is a more effective tool for both the student and the teacher. Parents can also gain access and keep tabs on how their child is doing. With more than 48 million users, it is obviously very popular and all within reason. Edmodo is the future and we should always evolve.

Desmos
Mathematics is a struggle for many students but Desmos might be able to help you. This online calculator can graph any function. This tool was created to be used from middle school through graduate school. This tool is free of charge and no download is required. It couldn’t get any easier. This is a fun and interactive way to tackle Mathematics.

instaGrok
This tool gathers related images, videos and information, based on a search you are doing. Instead of scrolling through a ton of websites, instaGrok will do all the work for you. You will be able to quiz yourself on the content as well, which always helps with exam preparation. You can now use this tool through Edmodo and submit work created through instaGrok as assignments. Killing two birds with one stone scenario.

Duolingo
This is a language-learning tool and website with guides in nine of the most commonly spoken languages. With all the new words 2016 searches done, we can now learn in a fun and interactive way. You know you have to check your grammar and spelling after doing a written assignment, but sometimes you need a little more. Duolingo is always working on adding new languages which is a big plus. Many free-online language tools can feel like they are all setup the same, but Duolingo gives you a different experience. The tests change as you progress and you will be able to develop the language of your choice with much more ease.

Coursera
Preparing for exams always seems like a nightmare for many students. Many times, this is due to the lack of preparation. Coursera works with the world’s leading universities to bring you course material which you can use to prepare for exams. The best part of this tool is that you receive a certificate for every course completed successfully. We all need more certificates to add to those future resumes.

iTunes University
I loved iTunes before, but this iTunes University tool is amazing. It is a library of free lectures, videos and many other educational material sources. Teachers are allowed to custom-design courses for the students via the app. It is very interactive and hardly feels like work. There is also a group chat where students and teachers can communicate through the app.

With all these tools available to you, there is no need to panic as you approach exams. If you prepare during your course timeline, you will be able to take on the fiercest exams. These tools are not difficult to use and should be easy to navigate for any student.
