There are thousands of scholarships out there. Some are large scholarships that are well publicized, while others are lesser known. My goal is to share some lesser-known scholarships with my readers every Saturday.

WIA Foundation Scholarship

Amount: $2,000
Deadline: June 22, 2016
Description: Scholarship is open to female students of any citizenship or nationality who are current college students and have an interest in pursuing a career in the aerospace field.

TMCF | Walmart Foundation First -Generation Scholarship Program
Sponsor: TMCF & Walmart Foundation
Amount: Up to $6,000
Deadline: June 24, 2016
Description: Scholarship is open to first-generation college students who are graduating seniors/incoming college freshmen. Applicant must be planning to attend one of the 47 publicly supported Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) within the TMCF member-school network.

AfterCollege STEM Inclusion Scholarship
Sponsor: AfterCollege
Amount: $500
Deadline: June 30, 2016
Description: Scholarship is open to currently enrolled students working towards a degree in a field of Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics from a group underrepresented in their field of study.

Dell Corporate Scholars Program
Sponsor: UNCF | Dell
Amount: Up to $4,500
Deadline: June 30, 2016
Description: Scholarship is open to minority students enrolled full-time at a U.S. located accredited four-year institution who will have junior standing for summer 2017. Applicant must major or have an academic focus in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Information Technology.

Jackson White Personal Injury Bi-Annual Scholarship
Sponsor: Jackson White Attorneys At Law
Amount: $1,000
Deadline: June 30, 2016
Description: Scholarship is open to full-time students in undergraduate, graduate, or law school programs. Applicant must submit an essay on a given topic related to unmanned cars.

Planet Zombies
Sponsor: Do Something
Amount: $2,000
Deadline: June 30, 2016
Description: Low-income communities are hit hardest by natural disasters, making them the most vulnerable to the effects of climate change. Play a zombie apocalypse game on your phone and send the fun game to three of your friends. You will also learn a thing or two about climate justice. You’ll automatically be entered to win the scholarship.

Poetry Card Contest

Description: Contestant must submit an original poem.

Randy Pausch Scholarship Fund
Sponsor: Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences
Amount: $2,500
Deadline: June 30, 2016
Description: Scholarship is open to full-time undergraduate students starting their second year or a graduate student attending an accredited college or university in the United States during the 2016-2017 academic school year. Applicant must have an intention to enter the game industry as a developer of interactive entertainment.

Sanders Firm Annual Scholarship Award
Sponsor: The Sanders Law Firm
Amount: $1,000
Deadline: June 30, 2016
Description: Scholarship is open to accepted and enrolled undergraduate and law school students who are committed to supporting their local communities by volunteering their time in furtherance of the issues that matter most to them. Applicant must submit an essay on a given topic related to volunteering.

Scholarship Poetry Contest
Sponsor: Live Poets Society of New Jersey
Amount: Up to $500
Deadline: June 30, 2016
Description: Scholarship is open to all U.S. high school students. Applicant must submit an original poem with 20 lines or less.
