There are thousands of scholarships out there. Some are large scholarships that are well publicized, while others are lesser known. My goal is to share some lesser-known scholarships with my readers every Saturday.

Imagine America Adult Skills Education Program (ASEP)

Description: Scholarship is open to students 19 years of age or older who will be enrolling in a participating college. Applicant must complete the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) Student Success Assessment to be consider for the scholarship.

Injury Lawyer News Disability Scholarship

Description: Scholarship is open to all pre-law and law school students. Applicant must be accepted to or already attending an accredited US college or university AND have a medically documented disability.

Medical Assisting Scholarship Award

Description: Scholarship is open to students currently enrolled in college or graduating high school seniors. Applicant must be planning on or currently enrolled in a medical assistant program.

Naughty or Nice Scholarship

Description: According to sources, “97% of climate scientists agree that humans are causing climate change.” Once student signs up, applicant will receive tips on creating naughty or nice cards and stats for reference, then submit a photo of themselves with the naughty or nice card and stat.

Description: Scholarship is open to current full-time students in college and high school students. Students pursuing degrees in Health, Fitness, and Nutrition are encouraged to apply.

Description: According to sources, “the teen birth rate in the US is the highest of any developed country.” By playing and sharing the game that spreads awareness about teen pregnancy, applicant will be entered to win the scholarship.

Description: According to sources, “low self-esteem is related to self-injury, negative body image, and depression.” Student must post quotes about kindness and positivity in the places where people need it the most.”

Scholarship of Academic Excellence

Deadline: Dec. 31, 2015
Description: Scholarship is open to students currently enrolled as a full-time student in an educational institution, or students who can show a letter of acceptance from a university. Applicant must submit an essay on a given topic related to the Internet.

Scholarship Poetry Contest

Amount: Up to $500
Deadline: Dec. 31, 2015
Description: Scholarship is open to all U.S. high school students. Applicant must submit an original poem with 20 lines or less.

Senior Story Swap Scholarship

Deadline: Dec. 31, 2015
Description: According to sources, “older adults who feel lonely or isolated have a higher chance of depression and decline.” Applicant can receive a chance to win the scholarship by signing up to receive facts on isolation among older adults and tips on how to have the best one-on-one interaction with them. Applicant must also spend some time with an older person.

Shopventory Entrepreneurial Scholarship

Description: Scholarship is open to entrepreneurially minded college students with a GPA of 3.2 or above. Applicant must submit an essay describing why they want to start their own business and why they will be a successful entrepreneur.

Sterling Law Scholarship

Description: Scholarship is open to incoming college freshman and current college students. Applicant must submit an essay on what makes a society a productive society.

Student Caregiver Scholarship

Description: Scholarship is open to students attending a U.S. university or college in Winter Term 2016 (starting January 2016) and who have been caring for an older relative while attending school. This includes current high school students who are matriculating in January 2016 and have been involved in caregiving during high school and intend to continue while attending college. Applicant must submit an essay or two-minute video telling the scholarship committee about their journey.

ThePennyHoarder’s $2,000 “Frugal Student” Scholarship

Description: Scholarship is open to students currently enrolled in a college or university with an active class schedule. Applicant must, in 150 words, share the most unique or interesting thing they have ever done to make or save extra money.

Top Ten List Scholarship

Deadline: Dec. 31, 2015
Description: Scholarship is open to students 13 years of age or older who are legal residents of the 50 United States or the District of Columbia who are currently enrolled (or will enroll no later than the fall of 2021) in an accredited post-secondary institution of higher education. Applicant will need to submit a short response to a given prompt.

Treat Your Friends to Fun Activities Scholarship

Amount: $3,000
Deadline: Dec. 31, 2015
Description: According to sources, “depression is the top cause of illness and disability during adolescence.” Applicant must sign up at the website to receive a printable IOU coupons filled with fun things to do and and then give it to friends. Applicant must submit a photo of themselves with the IOU book to get an entry for the scholarship.

Truckcrashlawgroup.com Scholarship

Description: Scholarship is open to current college students enrolled in a college or university in the United States. Applicant must submit an essay sharing information about themselves, their goals, and why they need the scholarship.

  2. You have no idea how much this has helped me. My family has very little funds set aside for my college education so I am mostly on my own. My mom and I look at this site every week and we apply for as many as possible.
