There are thousands of scholarships out there. Some are large scholarships that are well publicized, while others are lesser known. My goal is to share some lesser-known scholarships with my readers every Saturday.

The Jeanne E. Bray Memorial Scholarship Awards Program

Description: Scholarship is open dependent children of any public law enforcement officer killed in the line of duty who was an NRA member at the time of death, and to dependent children of any current or retired law enforcement officers who are living and have current NRA membership.

Appreneur Scholar Award

Amount: $5,000
Deadline: Nov. 30, 2015
Description: Award is open to high school, undergraduate or graduate students. Applicant must be submit a working application running on any of the current mobile apps devices.

Dish Promotions Scholarship

Deadline: Nov. 30, 2015
Description: Scholarship is open to incoming college freshman and current college students. Applicant must submit an essay on how three current, popular forms of sharing information impact how we understand information.

Education Matters Scholarship

Description: Scholarship is open to students 13 years of age or older who are legal residents of the 50 United States or the District of Columbia who are currently enrolled (or will enroll no later than the fall of 2021) in an accredited post-secondary institution of higher education. Applicant will need to submit a short response to a given prompt.

Description: Scholarship is open to current college students who are U.S. Citizens or permanent legal residents of the United States. Applicant must submit an essay on a given topic related to internet technology and infrastructure.

New Look Laser Tattoo Removal Scholarship

Deadline: Nov. 30, 2015
Description: Scholarship is open to U.S. citizens or permanent residents with a minimum GPA of 3.0 enrolled or planning to enroll in an accredited college or university in Fall 2015 or Spring 2016. Applicant must write a short piece on a topic related to laser tattoo removal.

Solve the Mystery SMS Game Scholarship

Amount: $10,000
Deadline: Nov. 30, 2015
Description: According to sources, “America has fallen behind the world in terms of science and math. One big reason is that our classrooms don’t have the money for books for equipment.” Applicant must sign up with their cell phone number and three of their friends’ cell phone numbers to play a SMS game about STEM. By playing and sharing, applicant will receive an entry into to win the scholarship.

Steinger, Iscoe & Greene Law Scholarship for Child Advocates

Deadline: Nov. 30, 2015
Description: Scholarship is open to current law students at an accredited law school or students at an accredited undergraduate university planning to attend law school for the following academic year.

Description: Scholarship is open to current college students in the United States with at least a 3.0 GPA. Applicant must submit an essay on the evolution of the nanny in the 21st century.

Description: Challenge is open to legal residents of the United States and international students with student visas. Applicant must create a fort out of sheets and blankets and share the photo or video on Instagram.

Description: Scholarship is open to students currently enrolled or planning to enroll in an accredited United States college or university in the near future. Applicant must submit an essay on a given topic related to workers’ compensation.

Description: Scholarship is open to U.S. residents who are at least 18 years of age and attending an accredited university or college in Fall 2015. Applicant must submit an essay on a given topic related to “home.”

Ashley Soule Conroy Foundation Scholarship

Description: Scholarship is open to students currently enrolled as an undergraduate student at a four-year college or university in the United States. Applicant must be planning to participate in full-time study abroad for at least one full semester outside of the United States.

Barbara Lotze Scholarship
Sponsor: American Association of Physics Teachers (AAPT)
Amount: Up to $2,000
Deadline: Dec. 1, 2015
Description: Scholarship is open to undergraduate students enrolled, or planning to enroll, in physics teacher preparation curricula and high school seniors entering such programs.
