Scholarships for students Rhode Island. Some scholarships specifically open to Rhode Island students, and others give preference to students in Rhode Island.

Roothbert Fund Scholarships

Description: Scholarships are open to incoming and current college students from Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Delaware, Maryland, District of Columbia, Virginia, West Virginia, and North Carolina. Scholarships are open to students in the United States regardless of sex, age, color, nationality or religious background, but it does seek to provide support to persons motivated by spiritual values. Finalists will be invited for a brief in-person interview usually in New York, New Haven, Philadelphia and Washington, DC (travel costs not paid for by organization).

Carter Roger Williams Scholarship

Description: Scholarship is open to graduating high school seniors in the state of Rhode Island who have been accepted to attend an accredited post-secondary institution.

Clauder Competition
Sponsor: Portland Stage
Amount: Up to $3,000
Closing Date: March 1, 2018
Description: Competition is open to playwrights who live or attend school in Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island or Vermont. Applicant must submit an original, full-length script with a running time between one and three hours.

Junior Duck Stamp Contest
Sponsor: United States Fish & Wildlife Service
Amount: Up to $1,000
Closing Date: March 1, 2018
Description: Contest is open to students in grades K-12 who attend public, private, or home schools in the United States and the U.S. territories. Contestant must draw, paint, or sketch a picture of an eligible North American waterfowl species. Deadline only for Missouri, Ohio, Rhode Island, Virginia, and Washington, DC. Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, and South Carolina deadlines have already passed, but all other states have a later deadline – see website for details.

Hearthstone Housing Foundation Scholarship
Sponsor: Hearthstone Housing Foundation
Amount: Up to $5,000
Closing Date: March 31, 2018
Description: Scholarship is open to students between the ages of 16-25 years of age who reside at a Hearthstone Housing Foundation property or in a county where a Hearthstone property is located (specific location details available on website) and who can demonstrate financial need, or come from a low-income household.

NEWWA Scholarships
Sponsor: New England Water Works Association

Closing Date: April 1, 2018
Description: Scholarship is open to incoming and current undergraduate and graduate students who reside in New England or attend a college/university in New England. Applicant must be majoring in civil engineering or environmental engineering and be a member of NEWWA.

Buddy Pelletier Surfing Foundation Scholarship
