Scholarships for students Nevada. Some scholarships specifically open to Nevada students, and others give preference to students in Nevada.

Carl N. & Margaret Karcher Founders’ Scholarship

Description: Scholarship is open to students, age 21 and under, who reside in Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Louisiana, Nevada, New Mexico, New York, Oklahoma, Oregon, Texas, Utah, Washington or Wyoming. Application must be a high school senior or graduate who plans to enroll for the first time in full-time undergraduate study at an accredited two-year or four-year college, university, or vocational-technical school for the entire upcoming academic year.

Dottie R. Walker LEAD Foundation Scholarship

Description: Scholarship is open to Colorado and Nevada residents with an identified learning disability or AD/HD, who are pursuing a post-secondary degree.

Italian American Club – Las Vegas Scholarship

Closing Date: March 1, 2019
Description: Scholarship is open to graduating high school seniors and current college students who are of Italian descent and legal residents of Clark County, Nevada.

National Italian American Foundation Scholarships
Sponsor: The National Italian American Foundation
Amount: Up to $12,000
Closing Date: March 1, 2019
Description: Scholarship is open to graduating high school seniors, undergraduate, graduate, post-graduate, medical, and legal students who will be enrolled in higher education for the Fall 2019 semester and have a GPA of at least 3.5. Applicant must have at least one ancestor who immigrated from Italy. In addition to general scholarships, there are scholarships open to specific majors and state residency.

GIAR Grandmother’s First-Generation Scholarship
Sponsor: Community Foundation of Western Nevada
Amount: Up to $2,500
Closing Date: March 15, 2019
Description: Scholarship is open to first generation young women of Portuguese, Mexican, Central American or South American ancestry under the age of 25. Applicant must be a resident of northern Nevada (typically described as Tonopah and north) or the state of Hawaii.

Mario Cugia Italian Studies First Year Scholarship
Sponsor: Italian Catholic Federation
Amount: Up to $600
Closing Date: March 15, 2019
Description: Scholarship is open to graduating high school seniors who are Roman Catholic and of Italian Descent and live within the Roman Catholic Dioceses of Arizona, California, Illinois, and Nevada. Applicant must be majoring in Italian Studies.

Cathay Bank Foundation Scholarship

Amount: $1,000
Closing Date: March 27, 2019
Description: Scholarship is open to graduating high school seniors who reside in California, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Texas, or Washington and plan to attend a college in one of those states. Applicant must have at least a 3.0 GPA and have a household income at or below the Low Income Level.

Royal Business Bank Scholarship Program

Amount: $1,000
Closing Date: March 27, 2019
Description: Scholarship is open to high school seniors who reside in New York City area (New York County, King County, Queens County, or Richmond County), Southern California (Los Angeles County, Orange County, Ventura County) or Nevada (Clark County). Applicant must be planning on attending a California, Nevada, or New York college, have at least a 3.0 GPA, and have a household income at or below the County Low Income Level.

NATAS PSW Foundation Scholarship

Amount: Up to $5,000
Closing Date: March 31, 2019
Description: Scholarship is open to undergraduate students enrolled in nine units or more and graduate students enrolled in six units or more for the coming Fall or Spring school year. Applicant must be a resident of the Pacific Southwest Chapter Area (San Diego, Las Vegas, Bakersfield, San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara,Santa Maria or Palm Springs) and intending to pursue a career in television and related fields.

Robert E. Thunen Memorial Scholarship

Closing Date: April 1, 2019
Description: Scholarship is open to full-time students who desire to study illumination as a career. Applicant must be a junior, senior or graduate student in an accredited four-year college or university located in Northern California, Nevada, Oregon or Washington.

NSFA Scholarship

Description: Scholarship is open to high school seniors who are sons, daughters, stepsons, stepdaughters or dependents of a Nevada State Firefighter’ Association member.

Mountain America Scholarship

Closing Date: April 26, 2019
Description: Scholarships are open to incoming and current college students who are Mountain American Credit Union members or family of members. In addition to the general scholarship, there are specific scholarships for community service and Business/Communications majors.

Celebrate the West High School Art Competition
Sponsor: Western Governors’ Association
Amount: Up to $1,200
Closing Date: April 28, 2019
Description: Competition is open to high school students (grades 9-12) in public, private, charter, and alternative schools. Home-schooled students in that age group also may enter. Student must be in a school in a WGA member state: Alaska, American Samoa, Arizona, California, Colorado, Guam, Hawaii, Idaho, Kansas, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Mexico, North Dakota, Northern Mariana Islands, Oklahoma, Oregon, South Dakota, Texas, Utah, Washington, and Wyoming. Applicant must submit a two-dimensional art piece on what their state means to them.

Alpine Recovery Lodge Bi-Annual Scholarship Essay Contest

Description: Scholarship is open to high school seniors and current undergraduate and graduate students who are residents of Utah, Colorado, Idaho, Wyoming, New Mexico, Arizona, or Nevada. Applicant must submit an essay detailing how addiction has directly affected them.
