Description: Sweepstakes is open to high school seniors and college undergraduates with permanent residence in Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Maryland, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, West Virginia, or the District of Columbia. Students can enter online or by mail once during each two week drawing period.

Direct Energy Live Brighter Scholarship

Description: Scholarship is open to registered college students for the 2017-2018 school year who are residents of any of the states where Direct Energy offers energy services (Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois, Indiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Texas, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and D.C.). Applicant must submit an essay or video sharing how they live brighter as a student while being a vibrant part of their community.

Baltimore Student Law School Scholarship

Description: Scholarship is open to first-year law students enrolled at an ABA-accredited law school in the U.S. In the event of a tie, preference will be given to students with a connection to the Baltimore/Washington D.C. area. Applicant must submit an essay on a given topic related to distracted driving.

Princeton Prize in Race Relations

Description: Award is for students currently enrolled in ninth through twelfth grades in a participating region (Alabama, Atlanta, Baltimore, Boston, Chicago, Cleveland, Connecticut, Dallas, Denver, Detroit, Houston, Kansas City, Los Angeles, Memphis, Miami, Nashville, New Jersey, NYC, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Rochester, San Diego, San Francisco, Seattle, St Louis, or Washington, DC) who have been actively involved in a volunteer activity that has had a significant, positive impact on race relations in their school or community.

Junior Duck Stamp Contest

Closing Date: February 1, 2018
Description: Contest is open to students in grades K-12 who attend public, private, or home schools in the United States and the U.S. territories. Contestant must draw, paint, or sketch a picture of an eligible North American waterfowl species. Deadline only for Maryland. South Carolina deadline has already passed, but all other states have later deadlines – see website for details.

Roothbert Fund Scholarships

Description: Scholarships are open to incoming and current college students from Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Delaware, Maryland, District of Columbia, Virginia, West Virginia, and North Carolina. Scholarships are open to students in the United States regardless of sex, age, color, nationality or religious background, but it does seek to provide support to persons motivated by spiritual values. Finalists will be invited for a brief in-person interview usually in New York, New Haven, Philadelphia and Washington, DC (travel costs not paid for by organization).

Women in Ag Scholarships

Description: Scholarship is open to female students pursuing a two- or four-year degree in the field of agriculture. Applicant must be a resident of a state where Mahindra does business (see website for details).

CEMS Fund Scholarship

Closing Date: February 25, 2018
Description: Scholarship is open to current residents of the state of Maryland who are high school juniors or seniors or currently attending an accredited Maryland post-secondary school. Applicant must be the first person in his/her immediate family who will be attending a Maryland accredited post-secondary school and studying (or planning to study) in the medical field.

Ulman Cancer Fund for Young Adults Scholarships

Closing Date: March 1, 2018
Description: Scholarships are open to individuals who have been affected by cancer through their own diagnosis or the diagnosis of a loved one. Applicant must have been between the ages of 15 and 39 during their own diagnosis/treatment or during the diagnosis/treatment of their parent or sibling. In addition to the general scholarships, there are specific scholarships open to residents of Illinois, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and Washington, DC and education majors.
