Maryland & Virginia Milk Producers Cooperative Association Scholarship

Description: Scholarships are open to students pursuing careers in the dairy industry, and must be a son, daughter, or employee of a Maryland or Virginia member, or the child of a Maryland or Virginia employee currently enrolled at a two or four-year accredited college, university or trade school.

Description: Scholarship is open to current residents of the state of Maryland who are high school juniors or seniors or currently attending an accredited Maryland post-secondary school. Applicant must be the first person in his/her immediate family who will be attending a Maryland accredited post-secondary school and studying (or planning to study) in the medical field.

National Italian American Foundation Scholarships

Description: Scholarship is open to graduating high school seniors, undergraduate, graduate, post-graduate, medical, and legal students who will be enrolled in higher education for the Fall 2019 semester and have a GPA of at least 3.5. Applicant must have at least one ancestor who immigrated from Italy. In addition to general scholarships, there are scholarships open to specific majors and state residency.

Description: Sweepstakes is open to high school seniors and college undergraduates with permanent residence in Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Maryland, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, West Virginia, or the District of Columbia. Students can enter online or by mail once during each two week drawing period.

Ulman Cancer Fund for Young Adults Scholarships

Description: Scholarships are open to individuals who have been affected by cancer through their own diagnosis or the diagnosis of a loved one. Applicant must have been between the ages of 15 and 39 during their own diagnosis/treatment or during the diagnosis/treatment of their parent or sibling. In addition to the general scholarships, there are specific scholarships open to residents of Illinois, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and Washington, DC and education majors.

Description: Scholarships are open to undergraduate and graduate students who are attending a college or university located within 25 miles of the White House. Applicant must be studying accounting and planning to sit for a CPA exam.

Legacy of Life Essay & Video Scholarships

Description: Scholarships are open to high school seniors who reside in and attend high school or is home schooled in Northern Virginia, Maryland, or Washington, DC. Applicant must submit an essay or video trying to convince a given audience to register as organ, eye and tissue donors.

Esperanza Education Fund Scholarship

Amount: Up to $20,000 over four years

Description: Scholarship is open to graduating high school seniors at a high school in the District of Columbia, Maryland, or Virginia or a recent GED grad residing in DC, Maryland or Virginia. Applicant must have been born outside the U.S. or have two parents who were born outside of the U.S. There is no citizenship or legal residence requirements.

Polish American Arts Association Scholarship

Description: Scholarship is open to American Citizens who are of Polish or Polish-American descent and who are residents of Washington DC, Maryland, or Virginia, or a student at an institution in one of these jurisdictions. Applicant must be a full-time college student, currently enrolled at an accredited college/university in the United States, with confirmed future attendance at an institution in the Summer/Fall of 2019.

Fourth Circuit Essay Contest

Description: Contest is open to current students in grades 9 through 12 from Maryland, North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, and West Virginia. Applicant must submit an essay on a given topic related to freedom of speech.

UNICO National Scholarships

Description: Scholarships are open to graduating high school seniors and current undergraduate and graduate students who live in a state of an active UNICO Chapter. Most scholarships are open to students of Italian heritage, but there are some open to all ethnicities. In addition to general scholarships, there are scholarships open specifically to Engineering, Fine Arts, Italian Studies, Medical, Nursing, and Science majors.

Columbia-Howard County PFLAG Scholarship

Description: Scholarship is open to students who self-identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender (LGBT) or as an Ally who demonstrates outstanding support directly to LGBT society and supports equality for all.
