Scholarships for students Maine. Some scholarships specifically open to Maine students, and others give preference to students in Maine.

Geiger Scholarship

Amount: Up to $10,000
Closing Date: February 28, 2019
Description: Scholarships are open to students in 6th grade or above who have Island residency on one of Maine’s 15 year-round, un-bridged islands. Middle school scholarships are for students attending off-island enrichment or travel programs, including summer camps. High school scholarships are for students attending a semester enrichment program or attending an off-island summer camp, travel, or enrichment program. College scholarships are for semester or summer study abroad programs. There is also a scholarship for students enrolled in a gap year program between high school and post-secondary education.

NEWH | New England Chapter Scholarship

Description: Scholarship is open to currently enrolled college students attending an accredited college in Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire, or Massachusetts.. Applicant must have a career objective in of the areas of the Hospitality Industry (i.e. Hotel/Restaurant Management, Culinary/Foodservice, Architecture, Interior Design, etc.)

OMEGA Scholarships

Description: Scholarship is open to high school juniors and seniors living in of the six New England states (Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Vermont). Students who are working with older adults in the areas of transportation, livable communities, technology, services, caregiving, and well being are particularly encouraged to apply.

Maude MacKenzie Scholarship
Sponsor: Maine Federation of Women’s Clubs
Amount: $1,000
Closing Date: April 1, 2019
Description: Scholarship is open to graduating high school seniors from Maine who has been accepted by a college or university. Criteria for selection will include academic average, leadership, and service in school and community.

NEEBC Scholarship Program
Sponsor: New England Employee Benefits Council
Amount: Up to $5,000
Closing Date: April 1, 2019
Description: Scholarship is open to college students (undergraduate or graduate) studying in an accredited academic program leading to a degree. Applicant must either be residing in New England or enrolled in a college in New England. Applicant must demonstrate an interest in a career in the employee benefits field through either course of study or work experience.

NEWWA Scholarships

Description: Scholarship is open to incoming and current undergraduate and graduate students who reside in New England or attend a college/university in New England. Applicant must be majoring in civil engineering or environmental engineering and be a member of NEWWA.

Jeanne L. Hammond Memorial Scholarship

Amount: $1,500
Closing Date: April 13, 2019
Description: Scholarship is open to female Maine residents who will graduate or have graduated from high school and who will enroll in an accredited college or school for post-secondary education this year. Applicant must have demonstrated financial need. Primary consideration will be given to those with dedicated school and/or community involvement. Secondary preference will be given to those women seeking a journalism degree.

Lemieux Lovejoy Youth Scholarship

Description: Scholarship is open to high school senior girls and recent graduates who will enroll in an accredited college or training program in the fall for their first year of post-secondary study.

Webber Group Career Advancement Scholarship

Description: Scholarship is open to incoming and current college students who are residents of Maine and have a parent or grandparent who is a veteran.

James V. Day Scholarship

Description: Scholarship is open to incoming and current college students who are residents of Maine. Applicant must have a parent or grandparent who is a member of the Maine American Legion.

Stephen Phillips Memorial Scholarship

Description: Scholarship is open to entering and returning students at an accredited undergraduate institution in the United States. Applicant must be a resident of a New England state: Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island or Vermont.

Rod Harmon Scholarship

Amount: $500
Closing Date: May 3, 2019
Description: Scholarship is open to Maine residents who are currently enrolled, or will enroll, full-time in an accredited post-secondary educational institution and is pursuing an Associates, or higher degree. Scholarship will be awarded on the basis of community service, academic achievement, financial need, and other achievements of distinction. Applicant must have at least a 2.7 GPA.

Lamey Wellehan Maine Difference Scholarship

Description: Scholarship is open to Maine high school seniors who will graduate in the spring and who will enter a Maine college in the fall OR a graduate of a Maine high school in one of the four years preceding the current year who will be enrolled in a Maine college in the fall. Applicant studies should be on the ecology and economics of Maine.
