Opportunity Scholarship for Locked-Out Dreamers

Description: Scholarship is open to high school graduates who live in targeted, locked-out states that do not offer in-state tuition to DREAMers, or bars them from attending state colleges and universities all together.

Women in Ag Scholarships
Sponsor: Mahindra
Amount: $2,500
Closing Date: February 1, 2018
Description: Scholarship is open to female students pursuing a two- or four-year degree in the field of agriculture. Applicant must be a resident of a state where Mahindra does business (see website for details).

Jimmy Rane Foundation Scholarships

Amount: Up to $5,000
Closing Date: February 8, 2018
Description: Scholarships are open to high school seniors and current college freshmen and sophomores who are no older than 20 years of age as of August 1, 2018. Applicant must reside in one of the following states or the District of Columbia: Alabama, Arkansas, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, West Virginia. Students will be selected based on academic excellence, community involvement, leadership skills, awards and honors, and financial need.

Church’s Community Scholarship Program

Description: Scholarship is open to graduating high school seniors who live in Alabama, Arkansas, Arizona, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Missouri, Mississippi, New Mexico, Nevada, Tennessee, or Texas. Applicant must be a U.S. citizen or legal U.S. resident and have at least a 2.7 GPA.

Regions Riding Forward Scholarship Essay Contest
Sponsor: Regions Financial Corporation
Amount: Up to $5,000
Closing Date: February 28, 2018
Description: Scholarship contest is open to high school seniors and college students who live and attend school in a state where Regions does business (see website for specific states). Applicant must submit an essay on an African-American individual who inspires them because of their significant achievements in society.

Sam S. Politz Scholarship Fund
Sponsor: Baton Rouge Area Foundation
Amount: $8,000 ($1,000 per semester)
Closing Date: March 1, 2018
Description: Scholarship is open to graduating Louisiana high school students who will enroll full-time in an accredited college or university. Student must have a minimum ACT score of 25, a minimum GPA of 3.5, and have taken honors and/or advanced placement courses.

TheDream.US National Scholarship Program
Sponsor: The Dream.US Scholarship Program
Amount: $25,000
Closing Date: March 1, 2018
Description: Applicant must be a DREAMer who is DACA eligible and has applied for or received DACA approval. Applicant must be a first time college student and intend to attend a partner college (details available on website). In addition to the national scholarship, there is location specific scholarships (states where they face paying out-of-state tuition or will not admit students to their universities).

Curwen-Guidry-Blackburn Scholarship Fund
Sponsor: Southern Bowling Congress
Amount: $750
Closing Date: March 15, 2018
Description: Scholarship is open to graduating high school seniors who are residents of Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Tennessee, or Texas. Applicant must currently be bowling in a USBC-sanctioned league and have bowled for three out of four years in high school.

CASE Scholarship Program
Sponsor: Casualty Actuarial Society
Amount: $1,500
Closing Date: May 1, 2018
Description: Scholarship is open to college students who have sat for an actuarial exam and have at least a 3.0 GPA. Applicant must attend a college or university in one of the following Southeastern states: Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, or Virginia.

Cheryl D. Conkling Memorial Scholarship Fund
Sponsor: Baton Rouge Area Foundation
Amount: Up to $12,000 ($1,500 per semester)
Closing Date: May 31, 2018
Description: Scholarship is open to graduating high school seniors with hearing or other physical hardships who have demonstrated a love of education. Preference may be given to students not receiving other substantial financial aid, and to students in East Baton Rouge Parish.
