Opportunity Scholarship for Locked-Out Dreamers

Description: Scholarship is open to graduating high school seniors and high school graduates who live in targeted, locked-out states that do not offer in-state tuition to DREAMers, or bars them from attending state colleges and universities all together.

Amount: $5,000
Closing Date: March 11, 2019
Description: Scholarship is open to high school juniors and seniors who personify and communicate ethics in the real world, as demonstrated through community service, personal integrity, and academic achievements. Applicant must reside in Alaska, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, Washington, or Western Wyoming. Applicant must create a 90-second video that on the topic “Why BBB and Trust are Important to Local Businesses and Communities.”

Closing Date: March 11, 2019
Description: Scholarship is open to students attending an institution of higher education who personify and communicate ethics in the real world, as demonstrated through community service, personal integrity, and academic achievements. Applicant must reside in Alaska, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, Washington, or Western Wyoming. Applicant must submit an essay on “Why BBB and Trust are important to local businesses and communities.”

Steven R. Nelson Native Educator Scholarship Program
Sponsor: Education Northwest
Amount: Up to $5,000
Closing Date: March 31, 2019
Description: Scholarship is open to students who reside in Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, or Washington and are a member or descendant of a federally recognized, state recognized, or terminated American Indian tribe. Applicant must be accepted to or enrolled in a master’s program in Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, or Washington and studying education policy, leadership, technical assistance, research, or a related field.

Celebrate the West High School Art Competition
Sponsor: Western Governors’ Association
Amount: Up to $1,200
Closing Date: April 28, 2019
Description: Competition is open to high school students (grades 9-12) in public, private, charter, and alternative schools. Home-schooled students in that age group also may enter. Student must be in a school in a WGA member state: Alaska, American Samoa, Arizona, California, Colorado, Guam, Hawaii, Idaho, Kansas, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Mexico, North Dakota, Northern Mariana Islands, Oklahoma, Oregon, South Dakota, Texas, Utah, Washington, and Wyoming. Applicant must submit a two-dimensional art piece on what their state means to them.
