Social Science Scholarships

Scholarships open to students studying in the social sciences and the humanities including, but not limited to, Anthropology, Economics, English, History, Languages, Political Science, Psychology, and Sociology.

UNCF Social Justice Scholarship

Closing Date: January 6, 2022extended to January 20, 2022
Description: Scholarship is open to students who are from New York, New Jersey, Vermont, and Connecticut who are committed to social justice. Applicant must be African American and be currently enrolled in college with at least a 2.5 GPA. Although all majors are encouraged to apply, those students who are political science, criminal justice or in a course of study toward the preparation of law school will be given preference.

America 250! Scholarship

Description: Scholarship is open to current college students who are majoring in American history. Applicant must have at least a 3.75 GPA. Applicant must submit an essay on the founding of our nation or their personal volunteer achievements for community and country.

Description: Scholarship is open to graduating high school seniors who will pursue an undergraduate degree with a concentrated study of a minimum of 24 credit hours in American History and American Government.

Description: Scholarship is open to female students who are graduating high school seniors at a Nebraska high school and plans to enroll as an English major at an accredited college or university.

SAA Native American Scholarships

Description: Scholarships are open to all native peoples from anywhere in the Americas, Alaska Natives, Native Hawaiians, and Indigenous Pacific Islanders. Applicant must be a current undergraduate or graduate students in archaeology.

Texas History Essay Contest

Description: Contest is open to graduating high school seniors in Texas. History, Government, and English students are particularly encouraged to participate. Applicant must submit an essay on “The Battle of the Alamo.”

WXIA TV11 Community Service Scholarship

Description: Scholarship is open to college freshmen who have maintained a 2.5 GPA. Applicant must be majoring in English, Communications, Journalism, or other related fields. Applicant must be residents of Atlanta, Georgia and be enrolled full-time in one of the Atlanta University Center schools (Clark Atlanta University, Morehouse College, Spelman College or Morris Brown College).

Description: Scholarship is open to current freshmen, sophomores, and juniors majoring in communications, computer science, biomedical engineering, chemical engineering, life sciences, microbiology, finance, global health, ,nursing, science technology, or sociology. Applicant must be from New Jersey, Rhode Island, Illinois, Maryland, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Nebraska, Texas, Arizona, Utah, or California.

Beinecke Scholarship Program

Description: Scholarship program is open to college juniors who are currently majoring in the arts, humanities or social sciences and plan to attend graduate school. Applicant must demonstrate superior standards of intellectual ability, scholastic achievement, and personal promise. Elizabeth J. Davis Scholarship

Description: Scholarship is open to Vermont students who are enrolled in a certified college (does not have to be a Vermont college) who are studying either nursing (RN or LPN), physical therapy, speech therapy, occupational therapy, or medical social work.

Arlington Foundation Excellence in Education Scholarships

Description: Scholarships are open to African-American students from the Dallas-Fort Worth Metropolitan area. In addition to general scholarships, there are specific scholarships for students studying STEM, business, literary arts, law and cosmetology.

Matt Fong Asian Americans in Public Finance Scholarship

Description: Scholarship is open to incoming sophomores, juniors, and seniors at a four-year college or university in 2022-2023 in California. Applicant must be of Asian descent (at least 50%) and majoring in Accounting, Political Science, Public Policy, Business Administration or related fields.

Hsiao Memorial Social Sciences Scholarship

Description: Scholarship is open to graduate students attending a U.S. based college or university in 2022-2023 with preference given to research/study topics that benefit those in social/economic need, especially Asian and Asian American communities. Preference for Asian heritage, but it is not required.
