Science Scholarships

Scholarships open to students majoring in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and other Science fields.

UNCF STEM Scholars Program
Sponsor: UNCF
Amount: $2,500 per academic year for freshman and sophomores, $5,000 for juniors and seniors, and an additional $5,000 for students whose academic programs require a fifth year
Closing Date: January 16, 2018
Description: Scholarship is open to high school seniors who are African-American/Black, have a cumulative GPA of 3.0, and plan to study a STEM field in college, including Biological/life sciences, Physics, Chemistry, Computer Science/Engineering, Information Sciences, Engineering, or Mathematics. Applicant must have demonstrated financial and unmet need as measured by the student’s college or university.

PTYC Marine Trade Related Scholarships

Description: Scholarship is open to students residing in Jefferson County, Washington desiring to attend a post-high school maritime program either inside or outside the County, as well as to students outside the County desiring to attend programs inside the County.

Description: Scholarships are open to high school seniors who plan on studying STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) at an accredited college or university. Applicant must be a Quad City area resident in the Illinois Counties of Carroll, Henry, Knox, Lee, Mercer, Rock Island, or Whiteside, or in the Iowa Counties of Clinton, Scott, Muscatine, or Louisa.

Agricultural Scholarships

Description: Scholarship is open to high school seniors graduating in 2018 or high school graduates who are residents in the Coachella or Joaquin Valleys and are planning to enroll in a California university with a declared major tied to the future in the California table grape industry.

Description: Scholarship is open to college sophomores and juniors who intend to pursue research careers in the natural sciences, mathematics or engineering.

Kia Motors America STEM/Sustainability Scholarship

Description: Scholarship is open to college juniors and seniors who attend a UNCF member institution and have at least a 3.0 GPA. Applicant must be majoring in one of the following disciplines: Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Biomedical Science, Engineering, or Sustainability/Environmental Science.

AIAA Scholarships
Sponsor: American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics

Description: Scholarships are open to current AIAA student members who have completed at least one academic semester and are studying science or engineering encompassed by the technical activities of AIAA. In addition to the general scholarships, there are scholarships open specifically to students studying Astronautics or Aeronautics, female students, and students who attend a college within the Rocky Mountain Section (Colorado, Wyoming or Montana).

EPP/MSI Undergraduate Scholarship Program

Description: Scholarship is open to U.S. citizens who are currently enrolled as a full-time 2nd year student in a four-year academic program; or transferring from a two-year to a four-year institution, or a 3rd year student in a five-year program. Applicant must be studying a discipline related to NOAA’s programs and mission at an accredited minority serving institution.

Ernest F. Hollings Undergraduate Scholarship

Description: Scholarship is open to full-time sophomore students who are majoring in a discipline related to NOAA’s programs and missions. Applicant must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 and be a U.S. citizen.

National Debt Relief Scholarship

Description: Scholarship is open to graduating high school seniors, and current undergraduate and graduate students. Applicant must be pursuing or intending to pursuing a a degree in the fields of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math).

Native American Natural Resource Research Scholarship

Description: Scholarship is open to Native American students who are planning or currently conducting tribally relevant research in a natural resource issue.

Description: Scholarship is open to current college and college-bound women studying (or planning to study) science, technology, engineering, or math at an accredited college or university.

USDA 1890 National Scholars Program
Sponsor: United States Department of Agriculture (USDA)

Description: Scholarships are open to U.S. citizens who have at least a 3.0 GPA and are accepted for admission or currently attending one of the nineteen 1890 Historically Black Land-Grant Universities. Applicant must study agriculture, food, natural resource science, or other related academic disciplines.

ANS Scholarships

Description: Scholarships are open to current undergraduate and graduate students pursuing a degree in nuclear science, nuclear engineering, or a nuclear-related field.

Bart Kamen Memorial FIRST Scholarship

Description: Scholarship is open to graduating high school seniors who have been accepted to, or applied for admission, to an eligible undergraduate program, which means a full-time program in Biomedical Engineering, pre-medical studies, or a program that allows students to pursue a chosen major while simultaneously completing a subset of medical school prep courses. Applicant must have participated as a team member for a minimum of one year on a FIRST LEGO League, FIRST Tech Challenge, or FIRST Robotics Competition team.

Dan Klepper Memorial Scholarship

Description: Scholarship is open to currently enrolled college students who are preparing for a career relating to the outdoors, environmental conservation, or wildlife management and conservation and whose plans include communicating their findings, opinions, and observations with the general public through mass media.
