Muddy Water’s Scholarship

Description: Scholarship is open to students enrolled full-time in an Illinois area college or university who are pursuing a degree in Music, Music Education, African-American studies, Folklore, Performing Arts, Arts Management, Journalism, Radio/TV/Film Music Composers/Songwriters, Artist’s Legal Rights, or Studio Recording Engineers.

Virginia Mathews Memorial Scholarship
Sponsor: American Indian Library Association
Amount: $4,000
Closing Date: May 1, 2019
Description: Scholarship is open to American Indian individuals who live and work in the American Indian community, and who are enrolled, or have been accepted and will enroll, in a master’s degree program at a university with a library and/or information sciences program accredited by the American Library Association.

New Century Scholars Doctoral Scholarship

Description: Scholarship is open to doctoral students accepted or enrolled in a research doctoral program who will pursue a teacher-investigator career in the academic environment, university/college level.

Hsiao Memorial Social Sciences Scholarship

Closing Date: May 13, 2019
Description: Scholarship is open to graduate students attending a U.S. based college or university in 2019-2020 with preference given to research/study topics that benefit those in social/economic need, especially Asian and Asian American communities. Preference for Asian heritage, but it is not required.

Graduate Student Scholarship

Description: Scholarship is open to graduate students who demonstrate academic achievement and promise in Communication Sciences and Disorders. In addition to the general scholarship, there are scholarships open to minority students and international students studying in the U.S.

Second Career Scholarship

Description: Scholarship is open to students enrolled full-time in a mortuary science program at an ABFSE accredited school in North America who is not related to an owner of a funeral home currently in operation.

Dr. Walter W. Ristow Prize
Sponsor: Washington Map Society
Amount: $1,000
Closing Date: June 1, 2019
Description: Prize is open to all full and part-time undergraduate, graduate, and first year post-doctoral students attending accredited colleges and universities anywhere in the world. Student must submit a research paper or bibliographic study related to the history of cartography.

Father Michael J. McGivney Vocations Scholarship

Amount: $2,500
Closing Date: June 1, 2019
Description: Scholarships are open to students with appropriate ecclesiastical approval, having been accepted at a major seminary, and studying for an (arch)diocese or religious institute in the United States, its territories, or Canada.

GCSAA Scholars Competition
Sponsor: Golf Course Superintendents Association of America (GCSAA) Foundation
Amount: Up to $6,000
Closing Date: June 1, 2019
Description: Scholarship is open to undergraduate students enrolled in a major field related to turf management, have completed at least 24 credit hours or the equivalent of one year of full-time study in the appropriate major, and be a member of GCSAA.

Houtan Scholarship

Description: Scholarship is open to graduate students with a working knowledge of Parsi and demonstrated interest in Iranian culture, heritage, and literature.

Student Academy Awards Competition
Sponsor: Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences
Amount: Up to $5,000
Closing Date: June 1, 2019
Description: Award is open to student filmmakers who are enrolled as a full-time student in a degree-granting program at a college or university recognized by the SAA Executive Committee. Applicant must submit an original film.

TCA Gareth Morgan Student Teacher Scholarship

Description: Scholarship is open to student teachers enrolled in a Latin certification program in Texas.

TSJCL Lourania Miller & Gareth Morgan Scholarships for High School Seniors
Sponsor: Texas Classical Association
Amount: $1,000
Closing Date: June 1, 2019
Description: Scholarship is open to Texas high school seniors who are planning to continue their study of Latin and the classics while in college. Students who receive this scholarship must take Latin or Greek their freshman year at college.

Student Translation Award
Sponsor: American Translators Association

Description: Award is open to any graduate or undergraduate student, or group of students, attending an accredited college or university in the U.S. Preference will be given to students who have been or are currently enrolled in a translator training program. Applicant must submit a project derived from any facet of translation studies.

ABFSE Undergraduate Scholarship
Sponsor: American Board of Funeral Service Education
Amount: Up to $2,500
Closing Date: September 1, 2019
Description: Scholarship is open to students who have completed at least one semester (or quarter) of study in a program in funeral service or mortuary science education accredited by the American Board of Funeral Service Education.
