WHS STEM NextGen Border Security Challenge

Description: Scholarship is open to U.S. citizens who are enrolled full-time as a college sophomore, junior, senior, or graduate student. Applicant must have at least a 3.3 GPA and be studying Physics, Social and Behavioral Sciences, Earth and Geosciences, Engineering, Life health and Medical Sciences, Mathematics and Statistics, other Physical Sciences, Computer Sciences, Environmental and Marine Sciences, Business, Communications and Graphic Design, Nanotechnology, or Public Affairs. Applicant must design a technology solution around the challenges facing the nation in securing the border.

Description: Scholarship is open to graduating high school seniors and current undergraduate students who are pursuing degrees in computer science, computer engineering, or other technical disciplines such as physics, electrical engineering, or mathematics with an interest in the field of computer science.

Discover Financial Services Scholarship

Description: Scholarship is open to students who will be a first semester sophomore beginning Fall 2017 enrolled full-time at any UNCF member institution or other accredited HBCUs. Applicant must be majoring in Computer Engineering, Computer Information System, Computer Science, Computer Science/MIS, Engineering Technology, information Management System, Information Technology, Software Engineering, System Engineering, Finance, Accounting, Marketing, Analytics Risk Management, Supply Chain Logistics, Economics, or other STEM related majors. Selected finalists are required to accept an internship position located in Riverwoods, IL (accommodation expenses are paid, but students are required to pay for their own transportation).

Apple HBCU Scholars Program

Amount: Up to $25,000
Closing Date: September 17, 2017
Description: Scholarship is open to students enrolled full-time at a four-year accredited HBCU or PBI (Predominately Black Institution) who are currently in the second-to-last year of studying, graduating in Fall 2018 or Spring 2019. The highly competitive program targets STEM students, but opportunities exist for students of all disciplines.

Siemens Competition

Closing Date: September 19, 2017
Description: Competition is open to individuals and teams of up to three students in grades nine through 12. Students are encouraged to do research in mathematics, engineering, biological, or physical science.

AfterCollege STEM Inclusion Scholarship

Amount: $500
Closing Date: September 30, 2017
Description: Scholarship is open to currently enrolled students working towards a degree in a field of Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics and who are from a group underrepresented in their field of study.
