Scholarships open to students working towards becoming teachers or working in the education profession.

Friends of the California State Fair Scholarship Program
Sponsor: California State Fair
Amount: Up to $2,500
Closing Date: February 28, 2019
Description: Scholarship is open to graduating high school seniors and current college students who are legal residents of California. There are 14 categories of scholarships – see website for details. In addition to the general scholarships, there are specific scholarships open to Agriculture, Art, Business, Culinary Arts, Education, Enology, Hospitality Management or Viticulture majors.

Minority Teachers of Illinois (MTI) Scholarship Program
Sponsor: Illinois Student Assistance Commission
Amount: Up to $5,000
Closing Date: March 1, 2019
Description: Scholarship is open to residents of Illinois who are minority students of either African-American/Black, Hispanic American, Asian American or Native Origin. Applicant must be a current undergraduate or graduate student at an Illinois institution of higher education in a course of study which, upon completion, qualifies them to be certified as a preschool, elementary, or secondary school teacher.

Ulman Cancer Fund for Young Adults Scholarships
Sponsor: Ulman Fund for Young Adults
Amount: $2,500
Closing Date: March 1, 2019
Description: Scholarships are open to individuals who have been affected by cancer through their own diagnosis or the diagnosis of a loved one. Applicant must have been between the ages of 15 and 39 during their own diagnosis/treatment or during the diagnosis/treatment of their parent or sibling. In addition to the general scholarships, there are specific scholarships open to residents of Illinois, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and Washington, DC and education majors.

Tri-Valley Retired Educators’ Scholarship Award
Sponsor: California Retired Teachers Association Tri-Valley Division 85
Amount: $2,500
Closing Date: March 22, 2019
Description: Scholarship is open to graduating high school seniors, community college transfer students, and four-year college/university students who will complete the sophomore year by the end of spring term 2019. Applicant must be a resident of Livermore, Pleasanton, Dublin, or Sunol (California) with plans of having a career in education.

Burlington North Santa Fe (BNSF) Foundation Scholarship
Sponsor: American Indian Science and Engineering Society | Burlington North Santa Fe Foundation
Amount: $2,500
Closing Date: March 31, 2019
Description: Scholarship is open to Native American, Alaska Natives, and Native Hawaiians who are graduating high school seniors and live in a state serviced by BNSF (Arizona, California, Colorado, Kansas, Minnesota, Montana, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Oregon, South Dakota, Texas, and Washington). Applicant must be planning to study Business, Finance, Mathematics, Natural/Physical Sciences, Technology, Engineering, Education, Medicine, or Health Administration.

CANFIT Scholarships
Sponsor: California Adolescent Nutrition and Fitness (CANFit)

Closing Date: March 31, 2019
Description: Scholarship is open to undergraduate and graduate students attending an accredited college or university in California who are pursing degrees in Nutrition, Physical Education, or Culinary Arts. Applicant must be of African-American, American Indian/Alaska Native, Asian American, Pacific Islander or Latino/Hispanic descent.

Steven R. Nelson Native Educator Scholarship Program
Sponsor: Education Northwest
Amount: Up to $5,000
Closing Date: March 31, 2019
Description: Scholarship is open to students who reside in Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, or Washington and are a member or descendant of a federally recognized, state recognized, or terminated American Indian tribe. Applicant must be accepted to or enrolled in a master’s program in Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, or Washington and studying education policy, leadership, technical assistance, research, or a related field.

Christa McAullife Scholarship Program
Sponsor: Tennessee Student Assistance Corporation
Amount: $500
Closing Date: April 1, 2019
Description: Scholarship is open to rising college juniors enrolled full-time in a teacher education program in an accredited Tennessee post-secondary institution who have at least a 3.5 GPA.

Elizabeth Baldwin Hill Scholarship

Amount: $500
Closing Date: April 1, 2019
Description: Scholarship is open to college juniors who are pursuing teacher certification in a publicly supported Alabama college or university.

IAHPERD Scholarships
Sponsor: Illinois Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance
Amount: Up to $2,000
Closing Date: April 1, 2019
Description: Scholarship is open to full-time undergraduate students attending a college or university in the state of Illinois and majoring in the areas of health, physical education, recreation, and/or dance.
