Scholarships open to students majoring in Communications, Journalism, Broadcasting, Public Relations, and other related majors.

Sports Task Force/Al Young Sports Journalism Scholarship

Amount: Up to $2,000

Description: Scholarship is open to Asian American students who are AAJA student members. Applicant must demonstrate journalistic excellence and a strong interest in pursuing sports journalism as a career. Applicants must be an undergraduate enrolled with at least 12 credit units per semester at a junior college or university in the United States.

Description: Scholarship is open to high school juniors and seniors who plan on pursuing a degree in Mass Communications, Development Communication, Information Systems, Software Development, Web Development, Cyber Security, Computer Science, or Management and Technology.

WXIA TV11 Community Service Scholarship

Description: Scholarship is open to college freshmen who have maintained a 2.5 GPA. Applicant must be majoring in English, Communications, Journalism, or other related fields. Applicant must be residents of Atlanta, Georgia and be enrolled full-time in one of the Atlanta University Center schools (Clark Atlanta University, Morehouse College, Spelman College or Morris Brown College).

Description: Scholarship is open to current freshmen, sophomores, and juniors majoring in communications, computer science, biomedical engineering, chemical engineering, life sciences, microbiology, finance, global health, ,nursing, science technology, or sociology. Applicant must be from New Jersey, Rhode Island, Illinois, Maryland, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Nebraska, Texas, Arizona, Utah, or California.

Sister Rita Jeanne Scholarships
Sponsor: Journalism Education Association (JEA)

Description: Scholarship is open to graduating high school seniors who have participated in high school journalism for at least two years. Applicant must be a student of a JEA adviser and a state winner. To be considered for the scholarship, applicant must submit a portfolio of their work to their state – most state deadlines are in February.

Mike Reynolds Scholarship

Description: Scholarship is open to students who will be college sophomores, juniors, or seniors at the time the scholarship is awarded and are pursuing careers in radio, television, or digital journalism.

Media Plan Case Competition

Description: Competition is open to undergraduate students enrolled at a college or university in the United States. Applicant must team up with another student (does not need to attend same institution) to submit a competitive media plan.

Marianne Beel Scholarship

Description: Scholarship is open to graduating high school seniors in Nebraska who are writers, photographers, videographers or social media professionals in the general category rural Nebraska, with preference given to Sandhills subject matter. Applicant must be seeking a post-secondary degree or certificate in a communications-related field.

Past Chair’s Legacy Scholarship

Description: Scholarship is open to college juniors and seniors beginning fall 2022, or graduate students with at least a 3.0 who are pursuing a study that is related to the hydropower industry: Engineering, Sciences (Biology, Fisheries, and Hydrology), communications, or environmental studies.

LAGRANT Foundation Undergraduate Scholarships

Description: Scholarship is open to U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and AB-540/DACA recipients who are a member of one of the following ethnic groups: African American/Black, Asian American/Pacific Islander, Hispanic/Latino, or Native American/Alaska Native. Applicant must be a full-time student at a four-year accredited institution in the U.S. with at least a 3.0 GPA and majoring in a field of study that has an emphasis on advertising, marketing or public relations. Applications submitted on or before January 14 will be eligible for an extra 10 points.

Description: Scholarship is open to graduating high school seniors and current undergraduate and graduate students in the United States. Applicant must be majoring in any type of art, communications, English, film, fine arts, journalism, multimedia, photography, or visual arts. Applicant must submit three photos demonstrating their best photography.
