CIC/Anna Chennault Scholarship

Description: Scholarship is open to graduating high school seniors who have been accepted to a U.S. college or currently enrolled college students. Applicant must be committed to AAJA’s mission and candidates will be judged on the basis of academic achievement, demonstrated journalistic ability, commitment to the field of journalism and/or sensitivity to Asian American and Pacific Islander issues.

Mary Quon Moy Ing Memorial Scholarship

Description: Scholarship is open to currently enrolled college students and graduating high school seniors who are pursuing journalism as a career. Applicant must demonstrate journalistic ability, financial need, commitment to the field of journalism and/or sensitivity to Asian American/Pacific Islander issues.

Sports Task Force/Al Young Sports Journalism Scholarship

Description: Scholarship is open to Asian American students who are AAJA student members. Applicant must demonstrate journalistic excellence and a strong interest in pursuing sports journalism as a career. Applicants must be an undergraduate enrolled with at least 12 credit units per semester at a junior college or university in the United States.

Vincent Chin Memorial Scholarship

Description: Scholarship is open to current student journalist. Applicant must write about the legacy of Vincent Chin in essay form.

Historically Underrepresented Groups Scholarship

Description: Scholarships are open to minority undergraduate and graduate students who are studying Archaeology.

LPGA Scholarships

Description: Scholarships are open to female graduating high school seniors who played golf in high school. There are scholarships for students who are planning on playing collegiate golf and for students not planning on playing collegiate golf. In addition to general scholarships, there are scholarships open to minority female students.

Description: Scholarship is open to students enrolled full-time as a college freshman at a two year or four-year college or university with preference given to students enrolled at HBCU’s. Scholarship is open to any race or ethnicity, with preference given to BIPOC and underrepresented minorities.

Institute for Oral Health Scholarship Program

Description: Scholarships are open to undergraduate and graduate students enrolled in a dental hygiene or dental program. Multiple scholarships available, including specific scholarships for minority students, male students, and students in the states of Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, Virginia and Wisconsin.

LAF Scholarships

Description: Scholarships are open to students studying landscape architecture. Multiple scholarships available. In addition to general scholarships, there are scholarships open to minority students and students from Florida, Hawaii and New York.

Paul Hastings Diversity Scholarship

Description: Scholarship is open to 1L law students who will be enrolled full-time at an ABA-accredited law school. Applicant must demonstrate a commitment to promoting diversity and contributing to the firm’s diversity goals as a result of background, experience, personal attributes or characteristics. Recipient of scholarship will receive a paid summer associate position as well as the scholarship.

Martin Luther King Jr. Scholarship

Description: Scholarship is open to high school seniors from specific Washington state zip codes 98104, 98108, 98118, 98122, 98134, 98144). Applicant must be a member of a racial or ethnic group that in underrepresented in higher education (American Indian or Alaska Native, Cambodian, Filipino, Laotian, Vietnamese, African or Black, Hispanic, Pacific Islander, or Multi-racial).

Hmong Community Higher Education Scholarship

Description: Scholarship is open to residents of Marathon, Lincoln, and Shawano Counties (Wisconsin) who are of Hmong descent and is a graduating high school senior or current undergraduate student. Applicant must demonstrate concern and commitment to improving the Hmong community.

Kennedy-King Memorial Scholarship

Description: Scholarship is open to students who will transfer in the fall or spring following the award from a Contra Costa County (California) college to junior standing at a four-year accredited institution. Applicant must belong to a minority group under-represented in the California College and University system (African-American, Americans (North, Central, or South) derived from Spanish-speaking cultures, Native American, or Pacific Islander.

BIPOC Cosmetology & Barbering Student Scholarship

Description: Scholarship is open to students interested in a career in the Cosmetology and/or Barbering with identifies as Black, Indigenous and People of Color (BIPOC).

Distinguished Raven FAC Memorial Scholarship

Description: Scholarship is open to descendants and legal wards of any Lao or Hmong individual who served in the Royal Laotian Military or Hmong forces in defense of the Kingdom of Laos between 1960 and 1975. Applicant must also be a high school senior or graduate, and must be enrolled or actively seeking to enroll full-time in the coming academic year in an undergraduate program at an accredited college.

LAGRANT Foundation Undergraduate Scholarships

Description: Scholarship is open to U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and AB-540/DACA recipients who are a member of one of the following ethnic groups: African American/Black, Asian American/Pacific Islander, Hispanic/Latino, or Native American/Alaska Native. Applicant must be a full-time student at a four-year accredited institution in the U.S. with at least a 3.0 GPA and majoring in a field of study that has an emphasis on advertising, marketing or public relations. Applications submitted on or before January 14 will be eligible for an extra 10 points.

New Beginnings Esthetics Scholarship

Description: Scholarship is open to incoming college freshmen of Filipino heritage (at least 50%) who will be majoring in engineering, mathematics, computer science, environmental or physical science. Applicant must be a permanent resident of California.

Chin: Shui Kuen and Allen Chin Scholarship

Description: Scholarship is open to incoming and current undergraduate college students who has done community advocacy and social justice work on behalf of Asian American, immigrant, gay and lesbian and/or other progressive causes. Applicant or parents must be current or former employee at an Asian-owned or Asian cuisine resident.

Wong: Helen and L.S. Wong Memorial Scholarship

Description: Scholarship is open to Asian heritage (at least 50%) incoming and current college students from the Fairfield-Suisun communities (California). Applicant must have a least a 2.8 GPA.

Hsiao Memorial Social Sciences Scholarship

Description: Scholarship is open to graduate students attending a U.S. based college or university in 2022-2023 with preference given to research/study topics that benefit those in social/economic need, especially Asian and Asian American communities. Preference for Asian heritage, but it is not required.
