Scholarships for High School Seniors

College is right around the corner. Here are scholarships open to high school seniors who are off to college in the fall.

David B. Goldberg Scholarship
Sponsor: Chegg
Amount: $5,000
Closing Date: November 14, 2018
Description: Scholarship is open to legal residents of the United States and the District of Columbia who are at least 16 years of age and currently enrolled at an accredited high school or college. Applicant must be pursuing their own love of music and should submit a short essay and one-minute video of their own content.

Regeneron Science Talent Search (Regeneron STS)
Sponsor: Society for Science and the Public
Amount: Up to $250,000
Closing Date: November 14, 2018
Description: Talent search is open to any student who is enrolled in and attending his or her last year of secondary school in the United States or its territories. Applicant must conduct independent science, math or engineering research.

Concerto Competition
Sponsor: United States Marine Band
Amount: Up to $2,500
Closing Date: November 15, 2018
Description: Competition is open to high school musicians (grades 9-12) enrolled during the 2018-2019 academic year. Performers of woodwind, brass, or percussion instructions may apply. Applicant must select one of the works listed on the application for their instrument and submit an audio recording of their performance accompanied by piano, band, or orchestra.

Garage Door Nation Scholarship
Sponsor: Garage Door Nation
Amount: $1,500
Closing Date: November 15, 2018
Description: Scholarship is open to incoming and current full-time students at an accredited university. Applicant must demonstrate academic achievement, financial need, and active participation in their community. Students must submit a video explaining why they are a good fit for the scholarship.

Hagan Scholarships
Sponsor: Hagan Scholarship Foundation
Amount: Up to $5,000 each semester
Closing Date: November 15, 2018
Description: Scholarships are open to graduating high school seniors with at least a 3.5 GPA and from a rural area (a county with less than 50,000 people). Applicant must live in an eligible state (see website for details – Middle America) and demonstrate financial need.

Jeanne E. Bray Memorial Scholarship Awards Program
Sponsor: National Rifle Association (NRA)
Amount: Up to $5,000 for a maximum of four years
Closing Date: November 15, 2018
Description: Scholarship is open to dependent children of any public law enforcement officer killed in the line of duty who was an NRA member at the time of death, and to dependent children of any current or retired law enforcement officers who are living and have current NRA membership.

Most Valuable Student Competition
Sponsor: Elks National Foundation
Amount: Up to $50,000
Closing Date: November 15, 2018
Description: Competition is open to high school seniors who are citizens of the United States. Applicant must submit completed application and materials to the closest Elks Lodge. Applicants will be judged on scholarship, leadership, and financial need.

Start Standing Scholarship
Sponsor: Start Standing
Amount: $1,000
Closing Date: November 15, 2018
Description: Scholarship is open to graduating high school seniors and current undergraduate students. Applicant must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0. Applicant must submit an essay on a given topic related to health and being active.
