Scholarships for High School Seniors

College is right around the corner. Here are scholarships open to high school seniors who are off to college in the fall.

Dunkin’ Donuts Scholarship Program

Description: Scholarship is open to high school seniors who are residents in one of the designated Providence television market areas of Kent, Bristol, Newport, Providence, or Washington Counties in Rhode Island, or Bristol County, Massachusetts.

Sub Pop Loser Scholarship

Amount: Up to $7,000
Closing Date: March 22, 2017
Description: Scholarship is open to graduating high school seniors who are residents of Washington or Oregon. Applicant must be involved and/or interested in music and/or creative arts in some way.

Dr. Nelson Ying Science Competition
Sponsor: Orlando Science Center
Amount: $5,000
Closing Date: March 23, 2017
Description: Competition is open to Central Florida residents who are in high school or home school equivalent (grades 9-12). Applicant must submit a project in a Physical Science category.

Dexter All-American Team Scholarship

Description: Scholarships are open to USBC high school members who are nominated by a coach or team administrator.

Education Advantage Scholarships for Our Community

Description: Scholarship is open to graduating high school seniors and college students with hemophilia A or B, including those with inhibitors (factor VII or IX deficiency), or von Willebrand’s Disease.

PEC Scholarship Program

Description: Scholarship is open to graduating high school seniors who have a parent or legal guardian in PEC’s service territory (Texas).

Tri-Valley Retired Educators’ Scholarship Award

Amount: $2,500

Description: Scholarship is open to graduating high school seniors, community college transfer students, and four-year college/university students who will complete the sophomore year by the end of spring term 2017. Applicant must be a resident of Livermore, Pleasanton, Dublin, or Sunol (California) with plans of having a career in education.

Earth Day Awards

Description: Award is open to high students worldwide who can demonstrate environmental stewardship, leadership, and volunteerism as expressed through an Earth Day project.

Description: Scholarship is open to high school seniors who are considered legally blind and have low vision or are visually impaired, requiring the use of visual aid(s), other than the use of eyeglasses, in their daily life.

Negro Leagues Committee High School Writing Contest
Sponsor: Negro Leagues Committee of the Society for American Baseball Research
Amount: $1,000
Closing Date: March 27, 2017
Description: Contest is open to high school seniors carrying a minimum 2.5 GPA who are planning to pursue a degree at an accredited U.S. post secondary institution. Applicant must submit an essay on one of the Negro League figures who are the namesakes of the scholarships.
