College is right around the corner. Here are scholarships open to high school seniors who are off to college in the fall.

Fight the Fear Scholarship Slam

Description: Scholarship is open to students 25 years of age or younger who are current or former high school students who will be attending or is attending college in the U.S. Applicant must submit a poem on the following question: “How did you overcome one of your fears, and what did you learn from the experience?”

Roy F. and Joann Cole Mitte Foundation Scholarship

Description: Scholarship is open to U.S. Citizens who are high school seniors and will be graduating from a high school located in a Central Texas County. Applicant must have at least a 3.0 GPA and show financial need.

Description: Competition is open to Central Florida residents who are in high school or home school equivalent (grades 9-12). Applicant must submit a project in a Physical Science category.

Innovation in Education Scholarship

Description: Scholarship is open to students currently enrolled in high school or college within the United States with at least 3.0 GPA. Applicant must be a citizen of, permanent resident, or hold a valid student visa in the United States or Canada. Applicant must have designed an innovative project that makes a difference in the lives of others and submit an essay describing the goal of the particular project and provide supporting documentation.

Description: Scholarship is open to graduating high school seniors who are residents of Washington or Oregon. Applicant must be involved and/or interested in music and/or creative arts in some way.

Description: Scholarship is open to high school seniors and current college students who are enrolled or accepted as a full-time student in a food service-related major.

Nicholas A. Virgilio Memorial Haiku Competition

Description: Contest is open to students in grades 7 through 12. Student can submit up to three haiku poems.

Description: Scholarship is open to high school juniors and seniors who personify and communicate ethics in the real world, as demonstrated through community service, personal integrity, and academic achievements. Applicant must reside in Alaska, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, Washington, or Western Wyoming. Applicant must create a 90-second video that on the topic “Why BBB and Trust are Important to Local Businesses and Communities.”

ACMC Foundation Anil G. Patel Memorial Scholarship

Amount: Up to $1,000
Closing Date: March 22, 2019
Description: Scholarship is open to students attending a high school located in Ashtabula County Ohio. Applicant must be in the 11th or 12th grade, have an over GPA of 3.0, and have no more then three absences/tardies in the previous semester. Applicant must have an interest in healthcare careers.

CTCL Scholarship

Description: Scholarship is open to new first-year students, including international students and undocumented students, who will be attending a CTCL-member college or university.

EWISP – Dallas Scholarship
Sponsor: Executive Women International – Dallas

Closing Date: March 22, 2019
Description: Scholarship is open to high school seniors located within the boundaries of the Dallas Chapter. Applicant must demonstrate financial need, have a minimum GPA of 3.0, and have contributed to their community as demonstrated by their involvement in extracurricular activities, work, religious, or volunteer activities. Only one student per school is eligible to apply. Applicant must contact a school official and be selected to submit the EWISP scholarship application.

Marianne Beel Scholarship
Sponsor: Nebraska Press Women
Amount: $500
Closing Date: March 22, 2019
Description: Scholarship is open to graduating high school seniors in Nebraska who are writers, photographers, videographers or social media professionals in the general category rural Nebraska, with preference given to Sandhills subject matter. Applicant must be seeking a post-secondary degree or certificate in a communications-related field.

Tri-County Opportunities Council Scholarship Program
Sponsor: Tri-County Opportunities Council
Amount: Up to $1,250
Closing Date: March 22, 2019
Description: Scholarship is open to students planning to attend an accredited Illinois post-secondary educational institution during the fall of 2019 who are residents of Bureau, Carroll, La Salle, Lee, Marshall, Ogle, Putnam, Stark or Whiteside Counties. Applicant’s family income must be under a given amount for the number of persons in their family.
