July 2020 Scholarships

Attending college can be quite expensive for students and their families. Luckily, there are many college scholarships and contests available to help pay for a college education. Students should seek out and apply for scholarships in which they meet the eligibility requirements. Below are a handful of scholarships with July 2020 due dates. Barbara Mandigo Kelly Peace Poetry Awards
Sponsor: Nuclear Age Peace Foundation

Closing Date: July 1, 2020
Description: Contest is open to people of all ages. Contestants must submit a poem or poems that explore and illuminate positive visions of peace and the human spirit. There is no entry fee for youth 12 years of age or under.

Savor Summer College Scholarship

Amount: $500
Closing Date: July 1, 2020
Description: Scholarship is open to U.S. citizens who are high school sophomores, juniors and seniors with a 3.0 GPA or higher. Applicant must submit an essay explaining how they will be using their summer vacation.

El Cafe Del Futuro Scholarship

Amount: $5,000
Closing Date: July 6, 2020
Description: Scholarship is open to full-time undergraduate and graduate students who are of Latino descent and enrolled at a four-year HACU-member institution. Applicant must submit an essay on their Latino heritage, family, and community.

David Hudak Memorial Essay Contest for Freethinking Students of Color
Sponsor: Freedom From Religion Foundation
Amount: Up to $3,500
Closing Date: July 15, 2020
Description: Competition is open to freethinking students of color ages 17-21 who are either high school seniors or students currently enrolled in a college or university. Applicant must submit an essay on a given prompt related to rejection of religion. The contest is offered to provide support and acknowledgment for freethinking students of color, as a minority within a minority.

Paul E. Flaherty Athletic Scholarship

Amount: $250
Closing Date: July 15, 2020
Description: Scholarship is open to high school seniors and college freshmen and sophomores who have participated in some form of high school athletics.

$1,000 July Scholarship
Sponsor: Niche
Amount: $1,000
Closing Date: July 20, 2020
Description: Scholarship is open to high school and college students, as well as adults looking to attend college in the next year. Applicant must complete a form to login or register for a free account.

Flavor of the Month Scholarship
Sponsor: Unigo
Amount: $1,500
Closing Date: July 31, 2020
Description: Scholarship is open to students 13 years of age or older who are legal residents of the 50 United States or the District of Columbia who are currently enrolled (or will enroll no later than the fall of 2026) in an accredited post-secondary institution of higher education. Applicant will need to submit a short response to a given prompt.

Lint Center for National Security Studies Scholarships
Sponsor: Lint Center for National Security Studies
Amount: Up to $1,500
Closing Date: July 31, 2020
Description: Scholarship is open to students currently enrolled in programs leading to careers in national security.
