February 2020 DoSomething Scholarships

Do you like making a difference in your school or community? If you do, DoSomething has many campaigns to make a difference, and for participating, you will be entered to win a scholarship! Below are campaigns from DoSomething that are accepting entries in February.

Huddle for Heroes: Make a Card of Appreciation or Letter for Military Service Members, Veterans, and their Families
Scholarship Amount: $2,500
Closing Date: February 8, 2020
About: Beyond everything they do to keep us safe, military service members make the additional sacrifice of spending long periods of time away from family and friends.
How to enter: Use your creativity (and our easy guide) to make an appreciation card for military service members, veterans and their families. You’ll help them feel connected to home *and* automatically enter to win a $2,500 scholarship. Let’s Do This!

Can You Handle the Booth? Take a Quiz to See If You’re Ready to Vote
Scholarship Amount: $1,500
Closing Date: February 29, 2020
About: Many people find the voting process confusing, which keeps them from showing up to the polls and making their voice heard. Educating people about the voting process will make them more comfortable doing it! And that means they’re more likely to actually vote.
How to enter: Take and share our online quiz with friends to educate them on everything they need to know to vote in the upcoming elections. You’ll be entered to win a $1,500 scholarship!

Mental Note: Share a Mental (Health) Note with a Guy Friend
Scholarship Amount: $2,500
Closing Date: February 29, 2020
About: You could win an easy scholarship by giving a guy in your life (a friend, teammate, fraternity brother, actual brother, or boyfriend) one of DoSomething’s Mental (Health) Notes as a reminder to spend some quality “him” time. Using the card, he’ll set aside time to do a quick mental health check-in, do some personalized self-care, and be connected to clutch mental health resources for especially tough times.

Missing in History: Share a Black History Watch List
Scholarship Amount: $1,000
Closing Date: February 29, 2020
About: You could win an easy $1,000 scholarship just by sharing a Netflix watch list online. Too often, US schools practice “erasure” by leaving out or misrepresenting the truth about Black historical figures and events. If schools won’t teach the real history, it’s on us. This February, share our crowdsourced Netflix watch list. By inspiring friends to watch movies like “When They See Us” and “Teach Us All,” we can fight erasure and educate friends during Black History Month and beyond. Plus you’ll automatically enter to win an easy $1,000 scholarship!

Teens for Jeans: Run a Jeans Drive to Benefit Youth in Homeless Shelters
Scholarship Amount: $2,500
Closing Date: February 29, 2020
About: Almost 40% of people experiencing homelessness in the United States are under 18. One item they commonly request in homeless shelters is a pair of jeans.
How to enter: Recruit your friends and classmates to donate their gently-used jeans! Teens for Jeans is a nationwide youth-led drive to collect jeans for young people in homeless shelters. Before we collect the jeans, we need people to join the drive. Sign up for Teens for Jeans and encourage friends to do the same. The more people from your school that sign up, the higher your chances of winning a scholarship!
