November 2019 DoSomething Scholarships

Do you like making a difference in your school or community? If you do, DoSomething has many campaigns to make a difference, and for participating, you will be entered to win a scholarship! Below are campaigns from DoSomething that are accepting entries in November.

NSFW (Not Safe For Wheels): Answer Three Questions about Your Friend’s Habits to Save Their Life on the Road.
Scholarship Amount: $2,500
Closing Date: November 15, 2019
Future Dates: November 15 – December 31, 2019
About: Traffic deaths among young people are down almost 70% since the 70s. And getting reminders and tips from friends is one of the most effective ways to stay safe on the road.
How to enter: You could win an easy $2,500 scholarship just by sharing a guide to keep a friend safe on the road. It’s easy: think of a friend, answer three quick questions about their on-the-road habits, and you’ll receive a customized road safety guide for your friend. Share the guide online for the chance to save a life on the road *and* enter to win a $2,500 scholarship. (Plus, you could be selected for a free trip to the first-ever Road Safety Hackathon. Let’s Do This!)

STEM Superheroes: Draw or Print a STEM Superhero to Inspire Younger Students
Scholarship Amount: $2,500
Closing Date: November 30, 2019
About: Women, people of color, and people with disabilities are less likely to pursue STEM careers.
How to enter: You could win an easy scholarship by drawing an original superhero who uses STEM to make the world a better place! Use DoSomething’s template to create a poster for your schools’ classrooms. Your poster will (super) empower students to pursue STEM and you’ll be entered to win a scholarship.

Huddle for Heroes: Make a Card of Appreciation or Letter for Military Service Members, Veterans, and their Families 
Scholarship Amount: $2,500
Closing Date: December 15, 2019
Future Dates: December 15, 2019 – February 8, 2020
About: Beyond everything they do to keep us safe, military service members make the additional sacrifice of spending long periods of time away from family and friends.
How to enter: Use your creativity (and our easy guide) to make an appreciation card for military service members, veterans and their families. You’ll help them feel connected to home *and* automatically enter to win a $2,500 scholarship. Let’s Do This!

The Hit We’ll Take: Share a #TBT Guide Online to Help Friends Escape the Vape
Scholarship Amount: $5,000
Closing Date: December 31, 2019
About: A single JUUL pod contains as much nicotine as an entire pack of cigarettes!
How to enter: Share an online guide with friends about the dangers of e-cigs and vaping. Everyone hates when a remake goes wrong, and e-cigs/vapes are a bad remake of cigarettes. How about we back stuff we do want like Silentó, the man behind the Whip/Nae Nae? Share an online guide with friends to show them that e-cigs and JUUL are just a bad remake of regular cigarettes. You’ll be entered for a chance to win a $5,000 scholarship, and the school with the most guide shares will win a visit from Silentó himself!

Scholarship Amount: $5,000
Closing Date: January 6, 2020
How to enter: You could win an easy $5,000 scholarship just by sharing a card to support one of your friends! Pick a friend and share a card with our text keyword on it. When they text in, we’ll send them our easy guide on professional development and building community to help make their dreams a reality. By sharing, you’ll automatically enter to win a $5,000 scholarship! Plus, both you and your friend can apply for The Live Màs Scholarship, which offers up to $25,000 internship opportunities, and so much more.

Eligibility Information

While there is no GPA, test score, or essay requirements, there are some eligibility requirements students must meet to enter any of the above scholarship opportunities:

  • US or Canadian citizens, regardless of residence OR reside in the U.S. or Canada.
  • 13 to 25 years of age.

The above scholarship contests are easy to enter and you’ll be making a difference. Check them out and participate before the closing dates.
