Scholarship Saturday – October 5, 2019

There are thousands of scholarships out there. Below you will find many scholarships, most with general eligibility requirements. My goal is to share some lesser-known scholarships with my readers every Saturday.

Description: Scholarship is open to legal residents of the 50 United States and the District of Columbia who are 16 years of age or older. Applicant must submit an essay on what “who has most inspired you academically, and how have they encouraged your success?”

Innovation in Education Scholarship

Description: Scholarship is open to students currently enrolled in high school or college within the United States with at least 3.0 GPA. Applicant must be a citizen of, permanent resident, or hold a valid student visa in the United States or Canada. Applicant must have designed an innovative project that makes a difference in the lives of others and submit an essay describing the goal of the particular project and provide supporting documentation.

$2,000 “No Essay” College Scholarship

Description: Scholarship is open to high school, college, and graduate students and those planning to enroll within 12 months. Description: Scholarship is open to current college students in a trade school who is from anywhere in the Northeast. Applicant must submit an essay on why they are going into the trade of their choice.

Description: Scholarship is open to high school and college students in the United States who are/will be enrolled in college within the next 12 months. Courage to Grow Scholarship

Description: Scholarship is open to juniors and seniors in high school and college students with a minimum GPA of 2.5. Applicant must explain in 250 words or less why they believe they should be awarded the scholarship.

Description: Scholarship is open to incoming and current college students who are at least 18 years of age and have a minimum GPA of 2.8. Applicant must be currently or planning to be enrolled in school majoring in a healthcare or education-related field.

National Poetry Competition

Description: Competition is open to anyone aged 17 or over at the time of entering. International entries are welcome. Applicant must submit a previously unpublished single poem.

National Rice Month Scholarship

Description: Scholarship is open to graduating high school seniors in rice-growing states (Arkansas, California, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, and Texas). Applicant must create a video about U.S. rice, National Rice Month, and the importance of rice to their state.

National Scholarship for College Students with Disabilities

Description: Scholarship is open to students with a disability who are enrolled full-time in a two or four-year accredited college or university in the United States and who are U.S. citizens. Applicant must submit an essay on whether they believe “obesity” should be classified as a disability under the ADA.

Nitro College Scholarship
