September 2019 DoSomething Scholarships

Do you like making a difference in your school or community? If you do, DoSomething has many campaigns to make a difference, and for participating, you will be entered to win a scholarship! Below are campaigns from DoSomething that are accepting entries in September.

Draw Your Own Science Superhero!
Scholarship Amount: $5,000
Dates: September 15, 2019
Description: You could win an easy $5,000 scholarship by drawing an original superhero who uses STEM (science, tech, engineering, and math) to make the world a better place! DoSomething will provide easy instructions, a template, and superpower thought-starters. Your poster will inspire younger students’ interest in STEM, and you’ll enter to win a $5,000 scholarship. Win-win!

Huddle Up to Play It Forward: Pick Up at Least 10 Items of Litter to Create Cleaner Places to Play
Scholarship Amount: $5,000
Closing Date: September 15, 2019
About: Over 50 billion pieces of litter land on roads and in waterways each year!
How to enter: You could win the scholarship just by picking up trash or litter in a local park, beach, community space, or another place people get out and play! Just send in a photo of the litter you pick up. You’ll protect the environment, create better places to play, and be entered to win the scholarship.

STEM Superheroes: Draw or Print a STEM Superhero to Inspire Younger Students
Scholarship Amount: $2,500
Closing Date: October 15, 2019
About: Women, people of color, and people with disabilities are less likely to pursue STEM careers.
How to enter: You could win an easy scholarship by drawing an original superhero who uses STEM to make the world a better place! Use DoSomething’s template to create a poster for your schools’ classrooms. Your poster will (super) empower students to pursue STEM and you’ll be entered to win a scholarship.

Huddle to Brighten Someone’s Day: Unleash the Power of Play By Making an Activity Book for a Kid in the Hospital
Scholarship Amount: $5,000
Clothing Date: November 1, 2019
About: Childhood play stimulates the brain and produces neurotransmitters that make kids happy (yep, it’s science!)
How to enter: You could win an easy $5,000 scholarship by creating an activity book for a young person in a hospital and unleashing the power of play! Use DoSomething’s easy template to create fun games like tic-tac-toe, trivia,, and mad libs. You’ll brighten their day and automatically enter to win a scholarship.

Share a Positive Poster to Cancel Bullying
Scholarship Amount: $7,000
Dates: October 31, 2019
Description: You could win up to $7,000 in scholarships by hanging a positive poster in your school to drown out bullying and spread good vibes. We’ll give you a template to print and post, so it’ll be super easy. Share your hung poster by October 31 and you’ll enter to win a $5,000 scholarship. If you share it by September 30, you’ll be entered to win an additional $2,000 scholarship for sharing early. You’ll cancel bullying in your school and automatically be entered to win!

Eligibility Information

While there is no GPA, test score, or essay requirements, there are some eligibility requirements students must meet to enter any of the above scholarship opportunities:

  • US or Canadian citizens, regardless of residence OR reside in the U.S. or Canada.
  • 13 to 25 years of age.

The above scholarship contests are easy to enter and you’ll be making a difference. Check them out and participate before the closing dates.
