October 2019 Scholarships

Attending college can be quite expensive for students and their families. Luckily, there are many college scholarships and contests available to help pay for a college education. Students should seek out and apply for scholarships in which they meet the eligibility requirements. Below are a handful of scholarships with October 2018 due dates. Check out the full list of October Scholarships – there are currently over 100 scholarships on the list! More scholarships will be added as they become available.

Create Real Impact Contest
Sponsor: Impact Teen Drivers
Amount: Up to $1,500
Closing Date: October 5, 2019
Description: Contest is open to legal residents of the 50 United States and the District of Columbia between the ages of 14 and 22 years. Applicant must create an original work showcasing their idea for a solution or strategy to fix the very real problem of reckless and distracted driving.

Branson Shows Inspired Scholarship
Sponsor: Branson Show Tickets
Amount: $1,000
Closing Date: October 15, 2019
Description: Scholarship is open to legal residents of the United States between the ages of 16 and 19, who are current students at any accredited educational institution or program of higher learning. High school students and homeschooled students who plan to enroll in college upon graduation are also encouraged to apply. Applicant must submit an essay on how a show inspired their dreams.

NPG Student Poster Scholarship Contest
Sponsor: Negative Population Growth (NPG)
Amount: Up to $3,000
Closing Date: October 15, 2019
Description: Scholarship is open to current undergraduate students who are enrolled during the fall of 2019. Applicant must create a poster that focuses on overpopulation of the United States.

Dr Pepper Tuition Giveaway
Sponsor: Dr Pepper/Seven Up, Inc.
Amount: Up to $100,000
Closing Date: October 17, 2019
Description: Giveaway is open to U.S. legal residents who are between the ages of 18 and 24 years of age. Applicant must submit how they will change the world in 350 characters or less. Applicant will also submit a video that elaborates on their academic and professional goals. Individuals can also nominate a student.

$1,000 October Scholarship
Sponsor: Niche
Amount: $1,000
Closing Date: October 20, 2019
Description: Scholarship is open to all high school, college, and graduate students and those planning to enroll within 12 months. Applicant must be a legal residents of the United States and international students with valid visas. Applicant must login or create an account with Niche.

4-H Youth In Action Awards
Sponsor: 4-H
Amount: $5,000
Closing Date: October 21, 2019
Description: Award is open to 4-H members/recent alums who are between the ages of 16 and 19 years of age.

Coca-Cola Scholars Program Scholarship
Sponsor: Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation
Amount: Up to $20,000
Closing Date: October 31, 2019
Description: Scholarship is open to current high school seniors attending school in the United States. Program recognizes students for their capacity to lead and service, and their commitment to making a significant impact on their schools and communities.

George Montgomery/NRA Youth Wildlife Art Contest
Sponsor: National Rifle Association of America (NRA)
Amount: Up to $1,000
Closing Date: October 31, 2019
Description: Contest is open to students in grades 1-12, including home-schooled students. Student must submit a piece of art on a given topic related to North American game birds or animals that may be legally hunted or trapped.

National Rice Month Scholarship
Sponsor: USA Rice
Amount: Up to $4,000
Closing Date: October 31, 2019
Description: Scholarship is open to graduating high school seniors in rice-growing states (Arkansas, California, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, and Texas). Applicant must create a video about U.S. rice, National Rice Month, and the importance of rice to their state.

Patriot’s Pen Competition
Sponsor: Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States
Amount: Up to $5,000
Closing Date: October 31, 2019
Description: Competition is open to students in grades 6-8 in the United States, its territories and its possessions. Applicant must submit an essay on the following theme: What Makes America Great.”

Voice of Democracy Scholarship Competition
Sponsor: Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States
Amount: Up to $30,000
Closing Date: October 31, 2019
Description: Program is open to students in grades 9-12 who are enrolled in a public, private or parochial high school or home study program in the United States, its territories and possessions. Applicant must submit a 3-5 minute essay on this year’s theme; “What Makes America Great.”

Zombie Apocalypse Scholarship
Sponsor: Unigo
Amount: $2,000
Closing Date: October 31, 2019
Description: Scholarship is open to students 13 years of age or older who are legal residents of the 50 United States or the District of Columbia who are currently enrolled (or will enroll no later than the fall of 2025) in an accredited post-secondary institution of higher education. Applicant will need to submit a short response to a given prompt.
