There are thousands of scholarships out there. Below you will find many scholarships, most with general eligibility requirements. My goal is to share some lesser-known scholarships with my readers every Saturday.

Description: Scholarship is open to high school and college students in the United States who are/will be enrolled in college within the next 12 months. Applicant must create a Cappex profile (if they don’t have one already), share about their extracurricular activities, leadership, and volunteer activities, and then search Cappex for scholarships.

Innovation in Education Scholarship

Description: Scholarship is open to students currently enrolled in high school or college within the United States with at least 3.0 GPA. Applicant must be a citizen of, permanent resident, or hold a valid student visa in the United States or Canada. Applicant must have designed an innovative project that makes a difference in the lives of others and submit an essay describing the goal of the particular project and provide supporting documentation.

Description: Scholarship is open to incoming and current college students who are studying criminal justice. Applicant must submit short essays related to criminal justice.

ABFSE Undergraduate Scholarship

Description: Scholarship is open to students who have completed at least one semester (or quarter) of study in a program in funeral service or mortuary science education accredited by the American Board of Funeral Service Education.

Description: Scholarship is open to students enrolled at an accredited two-year or four-year college for the current academic year and must be a resident of the United States. Applicant must have an interest in sustainability.

Description: Scholarship is open to students seeking a degree in business, communications, marketing, or a related field. Applicant must have at least a 3.5 GPA. Applicant must submit an essay on a given topic related to business.

Paul Hastings Diversity Scholarship

Description: Scholarship is open to 2L law students enrolled full-time at an ABA-accredited law school. Applicant must demonstrate a commitment to promoting diversity and contributing to the firm’s diversity goals as a result of background, experience, personal attributes or characteristics. Recipient of scholarship will receive a paid 2L summer associate position as well as the scholarship.

Paul Martin’s American Grill Scholarship

South Dakota Opportunity Scholarship

Description: Scholarship is open residents of South Dakota at the time of high school graduation with at least a 24 on the ACT or 1090 on the SAT and who had a cumulative high school GPA of at least 3.0 prior to graduation. Applicant must attend a university, college, or technical school that provides instruction from a campus located in South Dakota.

Description: Scholarship is open to graduating high school seniors and current undergraduate students who are taking courses in Accounting, Banking, and other finance-related fields.

Tennessee HOPE Scholarship

Closing Date: September 1, 2019
Description: Scholarship is open to graduating high school seniors from Tennessee who will be enrolling in one of the Tennessee public colleges, universities, or private colleges. Applicant must have at least a 21 on the ACT or 1060 on the SAT.

Tennessee HOPE Scholarship – Nontraditional
Sponsor: Tennessee Student Assistance Corporation
Amount: Up to $1,750
Closing Date: September 1, 2019
Description: Scholarship is open to Tennessee residents who are 25 years of age or older. Applicant must be an entering freshman in an eligible post-secondary institution or have not been enrolled for at least two years after last attending any post-secondary institution. Applicant must have an adjusted gross income of $36,000 or less on their IRS tax form.

Used Car to Dream Car Scholarship

Description: Scholarship is open to legal U.S. residents who are at least 18 years old and are graduating high school seniors or current undergraduate and graduate students. Applicant must submit two short essays on a given topic related to automobiles and the Autolist’s core values.

Waechter Medical-Legal Scholarship

Description: Scholarship is open to legal residents of the 50 United States and the District of Columbia who are 17 years of age or older at the time of application and who are currently enrolled in an accredited institution of higher learning. One scholarship is open to students studying in the legal field and one scholarship is open to students studying in the medical field.

William A. Crawford Minority Teacher Scholarship

Description: Scholarship is open to minority students (defined as black and Hispanic individuals) planning to teach in an accredited school in Indiana upon graduation.

Gunnar Esiason Own It Scholarship

Description: Scholarship is open to high school seniors and college students at any level who have participated in athletics and have Cystic Fibrosis.

Healthcare Career Scholarship

Description: Scholarship is open to students who are currently pursuing education for the following healthcare careers: Medical Technology/CLS/MLS, Nursing (BSN), Health Information Management, Rehabilitation Services (PT, OT, PTA, COTA, SP), Pharmacy, Cardiac Ultrasound, Vascular Ultrasound, or Certified Medical Assistant. Applicant must reside in FHN’s service area (specific areas in Illinois).
