September 2019 Scholarships

Attending college can be quite expensive for students and their families. Luckily, there are many college scholarships and contests available to help pay for a college education. Students should seek out and apply for scholarships in which they meet the eligibility requirements. Below are a handful of scholarships with September 2019 due dates. Check out the full list of September Scholarships – there are currently 100 scholarships on the list! More scholarships will be added as they become available.

Back to School Sweepstakes
Sponsor: Balfour
Amount: Up to $5,000
Closing Date: September 7, 2019
Description: Sweepstakes is open to legal residents of the United States who are at least 13 years of age and enrolled in high school or college. Student can enter the sweepstakes daily.

Cameron Impact Scholarship
Sponsor: Bryan Cameron Education Foundation
Amount: Up to $50,000
Closing Date: September 13, 2019
Description: Scholarship is open to high school seniors (Class of 2020) who are planning to enroll in a full-time course of study toward a bachelor’s degree at an accredited four-year U.S. college or university. Applicant must maintain a minimum cumulative unweighted 3.7 GPA.

Gates Scholarship
Sponsor: The Gates Scholarship
Amount: Cost of attendance that is not already covered by other financial aid and the EFC
Closing Date: September 15, 2019
Description: Scholarship is open to exceptional, Pell-eligible, minority, high school seniors who are student leaders. Ideal candidates will have an outstanding academic record in high school (top 10% of graduating class), demonstrated leadership ability, and exceptional personal success skills.

JEN Scholarships
Sponsor: Jazz Education Network (JEN)
Amount: Up to $3,000
Closing Date: September 15, 2019
Description: Scholarship is open to high school and university students with talent and potential in jazz performance and/or education or industry. Multiple scholarships available with different requirements. Applicants should see website for details.

Golden Door Scholars Program
Sponsor: Golden Door Scholars
Amount: Full tuition, room and board for a year-year degree at a Golden Door partner school. Students at other schools will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
Closing Date: September 16, 2019
Description: Scholarship is open to graduating high school seniors and recent high school graduates who are eligible for DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals) or TPS (Temporary Protected Status). Applicants from states where DACA students must pay out-of-state tuition at public universities and community colleges will be given strong preference.

We the Future Contest
Sponsor: Constituting America
Amount: Varied based on class standing
Closing Date: September 17, 2019
Description: Contest is open to K-12 students, college students, law school students, graduate schools students, adults 25 years of age and older, and seniors 65 years of age and older. Contest is about the U.S. Constitution. Each age group has different requirements, so applicants should visit website for details.

Amount: $1,000
Closing Date: September 20, 2019
Description: Scholarship is open to high school and college students, as well as adults looking to attend college in the next year. Applicant must complete a form to login or register for a free account.

College Raptor Scholarship
Sponsor: College Raptor
Amount: $2,500
Closing Date: September 30, 2019
Description: Scholarship is open to student who are enrolled (or will enroll no later than the fall of 2019) in an accredited post-secondary institution of higher learning. Applicant must sign up with College Raptor (free) and submit an essay one of four given topics related to college.

Don’t Text and Drive Scholarship
Sponsor: Digital Responsibility
Amount: $1,000
Closing Date: September 30, 2019
Description: Scholarship is open to high school students in grades 9-12 and current college or graduate school students. Applicant must complete a short form and share a 140-character statement explaining why they will not text and drive.

Illustrators of the Future Contest
Sponsor: L. Ron Hubbard Library
Amount: $500
Closing Date: September 30, 2019
Description: Contest is open to new and amateur artists who have not been professionally published and paid for more than three black-and-white story illustrations, or more than one process-color painting, in media distributed broadly to the general public.

Shout It Out Scholarship
Sponsor: Unigo
Amount: $1,500
Closing Date: September 30, 2019
Description: Scholarship is open to students 13 years of age or older who are legal residents of the 50 United States or the District of Columbia and are currently enrolled (or will enroll no later than the fall of 2025) in an accredited post-secondary institution of higher education. Applicant will need to submit a short response to a given prompt.

STEM Scholarship
Sponsor: NextStepU
Amount: $1,500
Closing Date: September 30, 2019
Description: Scholarship is open to students who are interested in pursuing a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) major. Applicant must be 16-22 years old at the time of entry and be a registered user of NextStepU.com
