Scholarship Saturday – February 16, 2019

There are thousands of scholarships out there. Below you will find many scholarships, most with general eligibility requirements. My goal is to share some lesser-known scholarships with my readers every Saturday.

SMUD Powering Futures Scholarship

Closing Date: February 24, 2019
Description: Scholarship is open to high school seniors and college freshmen, sophomores, and juniors with at least a 3.0 GPA. Applicant must be a current SMUD customer or have a parent/guardian with are SMUD customers.

$1,000 No Essay Scholarship

Amount: $1,000
Closing Date: February 28, 2019
Description: Scholarship is open to residents of the United States and the District of Columbia who are at least 17 years of age and no more than 24 years of age and currently attending an accredited post-secondary institution in the United States or plan on attending in the fall of 2019. Applicant must log into their get schooled account (free) and complete at least one piece of content each month.

Anne Frank Scholarship Award
Sponsor: Anne Frank Center USA
Amount: $5,000
Closing Date: February 28, 2019
Description: Scholarship is open to high school seniors in the United States who will be attending a four-year college in the fall of 2019. Applicant must have proven themselves as exceptional leaders in combating intolerance, prejudice and injustice in their schools and communities.

Grand Plan Scholarship

Amount: $2,000
Closing Date: February 28, 2019
Description: Scholarship is open to current college freshman and sophomores. In 300 words or less, applicant must share their “grand plan.”

(ISC)2 Undergraduate Scholarships
Sponsor: Center for Cyber Safety and Education
Amount: $5,000
Closing Date: March 1, 2019
Description: Scholarship is open to graduating high school seniors and current college freshmen, sophomores, and juniors who must be pursuing, or planning to pursue, a degree with a focus on cyber security or information assurance.

4-H Beekeeping Essay Competition
Sponsor: Foundation for the Preservation of Honey Bees, Inc.
Amount: Up to $750
Closing Date: March 1, 2019
Description: Contest is open to active 4-H Club members. Applicant must submit an essay on the topic, “Honey Varietals, State to State.”

AAUW Willmington (DE) Branch Scholarships
Sponsor: AAUW Wilington (DE) Branch

Closing Date: March 1, 2019
Description: Scholarships are open to women residents of the state of Delaware.

AAUW Windward O’ahu (HI) Branch Scholarship
Sponsor: American Association of University Women (AAUW) Windward O’ahu (HI) Branch

Closing Date: March 1, 2019
Description: Scholarship is open to legal residents of Windward Oahu, enrolled in or accepted for admission at a regionally accredited post-secondary institution in the state of Hawaii and have not previously earned a baccalaureate degree.

ABFSE Undergraduate Scholarship
Sponsor: American Board of Funeral Service Education
Amount: Up to $2,500
Closing Date: March 1, 2019
Description: Scholarship is open to students who have completed at least one semester (or quarter) of study in a program in funeral service or mortuary science education accredited by the American Board of Funeral Service Education.

ACS Scholars Program
Sponsor: American Chemical Society (ACS)
Amount: Up to $5,000
Closing Date: March 1, 2019
Description: Scholarship is open to African-American, Hispanic/Latino, and American Indian students who are graduating high school seniors or college freshmen, sophomores or juniors intending to or already majoring in chemistry, biochemistry, chemical engineering or a chemically related science.

Adore Me Scholarships

Amount: $1,000
Closing Date: March 1, 2019
Description: Scholarship is open to high school graduates and college students who are already accepted or enrolled in an accredited four-year undergraduate institution in the U.S. Applicant must be enrolled in a business program or plan to major in a business course of study.

African American Network of the Carolinas Scholarship
Sponsor: African American Network – Duke Energy
Amount: $2,000
Closing Date: March 1, 2019
Description: Scholarship is open to African-American graduating high school seniors from North or South Carolina who are pursuing a major in engineering, math, science, computer science, accounting, finance, or business administration.
