Scholarship Saturday – June 2, 2018

There are thousands of scholarships out there. Below you will find many scholarships, most with general eligibility requirements. My goal is to share some lesser-known scholarships with my readers every Saturday.

Description: Scholarships are open to API program participants. There are multiple scholarships with specific requirements – see website for details. In addition to general scholarships, there are scholarships specifically open to community college students, military veterans, non-traditional students, students with disabilities, minority students, LGBTQ students, STEM majors, and student athletes.

Charlotte Pride Scholarship

Amount: Up to $2,500
Closing Date: June 10, 2018
Description: Scholarship is open to high school seniors and current college students from the Charlotte metro area (see website for map) with a GPA of 2.8 or above. Applicant must be LGBTQ or a Straight Ally student who has demonstrated service to the LGBTQ community or desire to serve the LGBT community.

Fair Forex Brokers Scholarship

Closing Date: June 10, 2018
Description: Scholarship is open to high school seniors and current undergraduate and graduate students who are at least 17 years of age. Applicant must submit an essay on the topic, “What does financial success mean to me?”

Keith William Law Group Semi-Annual Scholarship

Description: Scholarship is open to accepted and currently enrolled undergraduate and graduate students who have overcome adversity in their lives and difficulty in school. Applicant must submit an essay on their adversity.

TMCF | Walmart Foundation First -Generation Scholars Mentorship
Sponsor: TMCF | Walmart Foundation
Amount: $250 per semester
Closing Date: June 10, 2018
Description: Scholarship is open to first-generation college students who are graduating seniors/incoming college freshmen. Applicant must be accepted to and prepared to attend one of the TMCF’s 47 member schools.

Grace Towers Scholarship for the Arts

Closing Date: June 11, 2018
Description: Scholarship is open to high school seniors and current college students in California who are 16 to 25 years of age and identify as members of the LGBTQ+ community. Applicant must have, at some point in their high school or post high school career, demonstrated a commitment to raising awareness about LGBTQ+ issues, combating homophobia and/or bullying or educating their community about similar topics.

NAFB Scholarship Program

Amount: $5,000

Description: Scholarships are open to college juniors, seniors, and graduate students for the Fall 2018 semester who are enrolled in or transferring to an agricultural communications curriculum. Strong consideration will be given to candidates with concentration and/or application in broadcast media.

Queens of the Castro Scholarship

Description: Scholarship is open to high school seniors and current college students in California who are 16 to 25 years of age and identify as members of the LGBTQ+ community. Sharps Compliance Scholarship Essay Contest
Sponsor: Sharps Compliance, Inc.
Amount: Up to $1,500
Closing Date: June 11, 2018
Description: Scholarship is open to U.S. and Canadian citizens who have been accepted to, or are currently enrolled full-time as an undergraduate, at an accredited university for the Fall 2018 semester in a healthcare related program. Applicant must submit an essay on reducing the opioid epidemic.

Center for Advancing Opportunity Undergraduate Research Scholarship

Amount: $7,500
Closing Date: June 12, 2018
Description: Scholarship is open to students enrolled full-time at a four-year HBCU who are pursing a degree in an eligible discipline (Business, Criminal Justice, Economics, Education, Philosophy or Political Science). Applicant must have at least a 3.0, be classified as a rising junior as of Fall 2018, and be a citizen or permanent resident of the United States.

Foare Scholarship Program
Sponsor: Foundation for Outdoor Advertising Research & Education
Amount: Up to $5,000
Closing Date: June 12, 2018
Description: Scholarship is open to graduating high school seniors and current undergraduate and graduate students. Applicant must have career goals in the outdoor advertising industry family along with other students pursuing a course of study related to the industry.

NURSE Corps Scholarship Program
Sponsor: U.S. Department of Health and Human Services
Amount: Monthly stipend of $1,334 for the 2017-2018 academic year
Closing Date: June 14, 2018
Description: Scholarship is open to U.S. citizens, national and lawful permanent residents who are enrolled or accepted for enrollment in a professional nursing degree program at an accredited school of nursing located in the United States.

Academic Challenge Scholarship
Sponsor: Arkansas Department of Higher Education
Amount: Varies
Closing Date: June 15, 2018
Description: Scholarship is open to Arkansas residents pursuing a higher education who are graduating high school seniors, current college students, or students re-enrolling after a period of time out of college.
