Scholarship Saturday – April 14, 2018

There are thousands of scholarships out there. Below you will find many scholarships, most with general eligibility requirements. My goal is to share some lesser-known scholarships with my readers every Saturday.

Best Value Schools STEM Scholarship for Women

Description: Scholarship is open to female students currently attending or enrolled at an accredited post-secondary institution (undergraduate or graduate) who are majoring in a science, technology, engineering or mathematics program (STEM). Only the first 50 completed applications received will be considered.

Heartland Foundation Scholarships
Sponsor: Heartland Foundation
Amount: Varies
Closing Date: April 15, 2018
Description: Scholarships are open to students studying health care or nursing. Multiple scholarships available with specific requirements. Applicant must live within the Heartland Foundation service region (select counties in Missouri, Iowa, Kansas, and Nebraska).

MyProjectorLamps Scholarship
Sponsor: MyProjectorLamps
Amount: $500
Closing Date: April 15, 2018
Description: Scholarship is open to graduating high school seniors and current college students who are at least 16 years of age. Applicant must submit an essay on a given topic related to the use of multimedia and data visualization in K-12 classrooms.

NGA Foundation Scholarships
Sponsor: National Grocers Association Research and Education Foundation
Amount: Varies
Closing Date: April 15, 2018
Description: Scholarships are open to current undergraduate and graduate students who are earning a degree in a business, food management, or other relevant courses of study leading to a career in the independent retail grocery industry. In addition to the general scholarships, there are scholarships open specifically to students who have worked in the grocery industry.

Carl N. & Margaret Karcher Founders’ Scholarship
Sponsor: Carl’s Jr.
Amount: Up to $10,000
Closing Date: April 16, 2018
Description: Scholarship is open to students, age 21 and under, who reside in Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Louisiana, Nevada, New Mexico, New York, Oklahoma, Oregon, Texas, Utah, Washington or Wyoming. Application must be a high school senior or graduate who plans to enroll for the first time in full-time undergraduate study at an accredited two-year or four-year college, university, or vocational-technical school for the entire upcoming academic year.

NANOG Scholarship Program
Sponsor: North American Network Operators Group (NANOG)
Amount: $10,000
Closing Date: April 16, 2018
Description: Scholarship is open to undergraduate and graduate students pursuing a degree in one of the following fields of study: Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electric Engineering, Network Engineering or Telecommunications. Applicant must have at least a 3.0 GPA.

SMUD Powering Futures Scholarship
Sponsor: Sacramento Municipal Utility District (SMUD)
Amount: Up to $5,000
Closing Date: April 16, 2018
Description: Scholarship is open to high school seniors and college freshmen, sophomores, and juniors with at least a 3.0 GPA. Applicant must be a current SMUD customer or have a parent/guardian with are SMUD customers.

American Legion Department of Missouri Scholarships
Sponsor: The American Legion Department of Missouri
Amount: Varies
Closing Date: April 20, 2018
Description: Scholarships are open to current college students who are residents of Missouri. Applicant must be a member of The American Legion Family, i.e. Legion Member, Auxiliary Member, S.A.L. Member, or a descendant of any member thereof.

Wyland Galleries Waikiki Beach Walk High School Art Scholarship
Sponsor: Hawaiian Community Development
Amount: $1,500
Closing Date: April 22, 2018
Description: Scholarship is open to high school students in the state of Hawaii. Applicant must submit a piece of art on this year’s theme; “to care for our Island Earth.”

Cash Store Continuing Education Scholarship
Sponsor: Cash Store
Amount: $1,000
Closing Date: April 28, 2018
Description: Scholarship is open to students who are at least 25 years of age and will be enrolled in full-time undergraduate or graduate study during the 2018-2019 academic year. Applicant must have at least a 2.75 GPA. Only the first 200 applications will be accepted.

Ruby’s Rainbow Scholarship

Closing Date: April 28, 2018
Description: Scholarships are open to individuals with Down Syndrome who are 18 years of age or older and have a desire and intent to enroll or continue enrollment in a class or program that will enhance their life through employment, independent living or life skills, or interest in any other areas.

Sheltia S. Murray Scholarship

Amount: $1,000
Closing Date: April 28, 2018
Description: Scholarship is open to graduating high school seniors in Rutherford County, Tennessee who have at least a 3.0 GPA and at least a 22 on the ACT.

Terry Bryant Scholarship
Sponsor: Terry Bryan Accident & Injury Law
Amount: $2,500
Closing Date: April 28, 2018
Description: Scholarship is open to high school seniors who plan on seeking a degree at an accredited four-year university. Applicant must produce a video, write an essay , or put together a PowerPoint presentation on the dangers of underage drinking, drunk driving, or distracted driving.
