Scholarship Saturday – February 24, 2018

There are thousands of scholarships out there. Below you will find many scholarships, most with general eligibility requirements. My goal is to share some lesser-known scholarships with my readers every Saturday.

Description: Contest is open to U.S. students who are in grades 6-12. Student must submit an essay on a given prompt related to the Civil War.

Course Hero February Scholarship*

Closing Date: February 28, 2018
Description: Scholarship is open to permanent legal U.S. residents physically residing in the 50 United States and the District of Columbia who are at least 16 years old and currently enrolled in an accredited college or university in the United States. Applicant must answer a short question, give course advice, upload eight study documents, and share on social media.

San Angelo Area Foundation Scholarships

Description: Scholarships are open to high school seniors and current college students from the San Angelo (Texas) area. There are multiple scholarships available with specific requirements – see website for details.

SunTrust Scholarship Sweepstakes
Sponsor: SunTrust
Amount: $500
Closing Date: March 2, 2018
Description: Sweepstakes is open to high school seniors and college undergraduates with permanent residence in Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Maryland, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, West Virginia, or the District of Columbia. Students can enter online or by mail once during each two-week drawing period.

Dr. Joseph Graham Fellowship for College Pro-Life Leaders

Amount: Up to $8,000

Description: Scholarship is open to undergraduate Texas students who are passionate leaders and a pro-life college student.

Students Rising Above Scholars Program
Sponsor: Students Rising Above
Amount: Varies
Closing Date: March 4, 2018
Description: Scholars program is open to high school juniors from low-income families who live within the nine-county California Bay Area. Student must have demonstrated strength of character in overcoming obstacles not of his/her own making.

Book Industry Charitable Foundation Scholarship Program
Sponsor: Book Industry Charitable Foundation
Amount: Up to $10,000
Closing Date: March 5, 2018
Description: Scholarship is open to high school seniors, high school graduates, and post-secondary undergraduates and graduate students. Applicant must be a current employee or owner of a retail bookstore in the U.S. or a dependent (children under the age of 25, spouses, and qualified same-sex partners) who have a minimum of one year of continuous employment at the bookstore.

Delaware Solid Waste Authority John P. “Pat” Healy Scholarship
Sponsor: Delaware Department of Education
Amount: Up to $2,500
Closing Date: March 5, 2018
Description: Scholarship is open to legal residents of Delaware who are U.S. citizens or eligible non-citizens who are high school seniors or full-time college students in their freshman or sophomore years. Applicant must be majoring in either environmental engineering or environmental sciences at a Delaware college.

Diamond State Scholarship
Sponsor: Delaware Department of Education
Amount: $1,250 per year
Closing Date: March 5, 2018
Description: Scholarship is open to high school seniors who rank in the upper quarter of their class and who are legal residents of Delaware. Applicant must be enrolling as a full-time student in a degree program at a nonprofit, regionally accredited institution.

First State Manufactured Housing Association Scholarship
Sponsor: Delaware Department of Education
Amount: Up to $1,000
Closing Date: March 5, 2018
Description: Scholarship is open to legal residents of Delaware who are high school seniors or former graduates seeking to further their education. Applicant must be a resident of a manufactured home for at least one year prior to the applicant.
