Attending college can be quite expensive for students and their families. Luckily, there are many college scholarships and contests available to help pay for a college education. Students should seek out and apply for scholarships in which they meet the eligibility requirements. Below are a handful of scholarships with March 2018 due dates. Check out the full list of March Scholarships – there are currently over 300 scholarships on the list! More scholarships will be added as they become available.

ADA Central Annual College Scholarship

Closing Date: March 1, 2018
Description: Scholarship is open to graduating high school seniors and current college students. Applicant must submit an essay about their experience with, or what the American with Disabilities Act (ADA) means to them.
Create-A-Greeting-Card Scholarship Contest
Sponsor: The Gallery Collection
Amount: $10,000
Closing Date: March 1, 2018
Description: Scholarship contest is open to all high school, college and university students enrolled at any time during the latter half of 2017 who are at least 14 years of age. Applicant must be a legal resident of the 50 United States, the District of Columbia, or U.S. territories. Applicant must submit a photo, artwork or computer graphic for the front of a greeting card.
Frame My Future Contest
Sponsor: Church Hill Classics
Amount: Up to $5,000
Closing Date: March 1, 2018
Description: Contest is open to legal U.S. residents who will be a full-time student at a U.S. college or university in the 2018-2019 academic year. Applicant must share how they envision their future. Student can choose to share through poetry, photography, ink, collage, painting, mixed media, or graphic design – as long as it is an original creation.
Green Is Film Scholarship

Amount: Up to $2,500
Closing Date: March 1, 2018
Description: Contest is open to students in 8th grade, high school, and undergraduate studies. Applicant must submit a 3-6 minute video on an environmental issue.
Project Yellow Light Scholarship Competition – Billboard
Sponsor: Advertising Council
Amount: Up to $2,000
Closing Date: March 1, 2018
Description: Competition is open to high school juniors and seniors and current undergraduate students. Applicant must design a billboard advertisement to warn their peers of the dangers of texting and driving.
Stand Up Men Award

Amount: $2,500
Closing Date: March 1, 2018
Description: Scholarship is open to 8th graders, high school students, and undergraduate students under the age of 25 and of any gender. Applicant must submit an original 3-6 minute film on any man they know who is taking a stand to prevent violence against women and/or standing up for women’s rights.
Doodle 4 Google
Sponsor: Google Inc.
Amount: $30,000
Closing Date: March 2, 2018
Description: Program is open to students in grades kindergarten through twelfth grades. Student must create an uplifting doodle that tells the world “What inspires me.”
DNA Day Essay Contest
Sponsor: American Society of Human Genetics
Amount: Up to $1,000
Closing Date: March 9, 2018
Description: Contest is open to high school students in grades 9-12. Applicant must submit an essay on a topic related to genetics.
American Foreign Service Association National High School Essay Contest

Closing Date: March 15, 2018
Description: Contest is open to high school students in grades 9-12 who are U.S. citizens. Students must submit an essay on a given topic related to the Foreign Service.
Live Deliberately Essay Contest

Description: Contest is open to youth ages 14-21 around the globe. Applicant must submit an essay or visual essay on a topic related to a quotation by Henry David Thoreau.
National High School Essay Contest
Sponsor: United States Institute of Peace
Amount: Up to $2,500
Closing Date: March 15, 2018
Description: Contest is open to students in grades 9-12 in any of the 50 United States, the District of Columbia, the U.S. territories, or if they are U.S. citizens attending high school overseas. Applicant must submit an essay on a given topic related to peace.
Operation Prevention Video Challenge

Amount: Up to $10,000
Closing Date: March 20, 2018
Description: Contest is open to legal U.S. residents who are at least 13 years of age and are students enrolled in 9th through 12th grade at a public, private, parochial, or home school located in one of the 50 United States or the District of Columbia. Applicant must submit a video sending a message to their peers about the dangers of prescription opioid misuse.
Nicholas A. Virgilio Memorial Haiku Competition

Closing Date: March 25, 2018
Description: Contest is open to students in grades 7 through 12. Student can submit up to three haiku poems.
ABA YLD Law Day Art Contest
Sponsor: American Bar Association
Amount: Up to $750

Description: Contest is open to students, student groups, and classes in grades 9-12 (or the equivalent) in the United States. Contestants must submit an art on the theme: “Separation of Powers: Framework for Freedom.”
Superpower Scholarships

Amount: $2,500
Closing Date: March 31, 2018
Description: Scholarship is open to students 13 years of age or older who are legal residents of the 50 United States or the District of Columbia and who are currently enrolled (or will enroll no later than the fall of 2024) in an accredited post-secondary institution of higher education. In a short written response, student must explain which superhero or villain they would want to changes places with for a day and why.
Writer’s Square Essay Contest

Amount: Up to $1,000
Closing Date: March 31, 2018
Description: Contest is open to students in 1st grade through college. Applicant must submit an essay on the theme of “Character.”
