Do you like making a difference in your school or community? If you do, DoSomething has many campaigns to make a difference, and for participating, you will be entered to win a scholarship! Below are the campaigns with October 2016 closing dates.

Make a YouTube Video More Inclusive for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Community
Scholarship Amount: $1,500
Closing Date: October 15, 2016
About: Most YouTube videos use auto-generated captions that contain tons of mistakes (that are kind of funny)! But’s it’s not so funny to the 360 million folks globally who relay on closed captions to understand the video.
How to enter: Check out some of your favorite creators and see if they have accurate closed captions. If the captions are inaccurate, leave the YouTuber a comment letting them know how important it is to make their channel accessible. For every video you find and leave a comment, you can receive an entry for the scholarship.

Post 1-Star Reviews to Take Down Offensive Halloween Costumes
Scholarship Amount: $1,500
Closing Date: October 15, 2016
About: Every year, we see countless headlines of Halloween costumes, sold and worn, that perpetuate racist, cultural stereotypes.
How to enter: Sign up for facts on cultural appropriation and tips on educating people about it. DoSomething will provide a list of costumes that perpetuate the stereotypes. Applicant is asked to leave a one-star rating online. For every review you submit, you earn another chance to win the scholarship.

Make a Poster to Help Kids Learn Their ABCs!
Scholarship Amount: $1,000
Closing Date: October 17, 2016
About: Schools hold kindergartners to new, high literacy standards yet still teach the ABCs in old, unexciting ways. Students who learn more in kindergarten are less likely to drop out of high school and more likely to go to college.
How to enter: For every one ABC poster you make, you will gain one scholarship entry. Student can get unlimited entries.

Create a Banner to Welcome a Veteran Home!
Scholarship Amount: $1,000
Closing Date: October 31, 2016 (opening October 17, 2016)
About: One night in 2014, 49,933 veterans were homeless.
How to enter: Create a banner to welcome a veteran home and mail it to the nearest community center (DoSomething will provide the address) and you’ll be entered to win the scholarship.

Demand More Non-“Sexy” Halloween Costume Options for the Women’s Section
Scholarship Amount: $3,000
Closing Date: October 31, 2016
About: At least 90% of costumes in the women’s section are designed to be “sexy.”
How to enter: Choose a photo and caption provided by DoSomething to demand Party City to offer better options. Each unique social media posting will be considered an entry in the scholarship drawing.

Help 1 Friend Register to Vote!
Scholarship Amount: $5,000
Closing Date: October 31, 2016
About: Voting in your first presidential election is exciting.
How to enter: Simply share a link to an online voter registration (link will be provided) with a friend by text, email, or social media. Each time you share a unique registration link, you will receive a scholarship entry. Unlimited entries.

Make a Vision Board to Inspire Young Students
Scholarship Amount: $5,000
Closing Date: October 31, 2016
About: 84% of U.S. scientists and engineers are white or Asian males. Let’s get some diversity in these fields!
How to enter: Make a vision board featuring diverse role models to inspire female and minority students to pursue science and math. For every vision board delivered to an Elementary School, you get an entry for the scholarship.
