There are thousands of scholarships out there. Some are large scholarships that are well publicized, while others are lesser known. My goal is to share some lesser-known scholarships with my readers every Saturday.

Description: Scholarship is open to students enrolled full-time in a mortuary science program at an ABFSE accredited school in North America who is not related to an owner of a funeral home currently in operation.

$1,000 PicMonkey College Scholarship

Description: Scholarship is open to graduating high school seniors and current college freshman who are residents of the United States or Canada. Applicant must submit a survey and an essay with 400-500 words on a topic related to a photograph.

AAC’s Behavioral Health Academic Scholarship Program

Description: Open to full or part-time undergraduate or graduate students who are entering or enrolled in a behavior health, nursing, counseling, psychology, social work, marriage/family therapy, or other program focusing on treating mental health and/or substance abuse issues.

Description: Scholarship is open to accepted or enrolled students in a college or university located within the United States or the District of Columbia. Applicant must submit an essay on a given topic related to addiction.

Description: Scholarship is open to graduating high school seniors and currently enrolled college students. Applicant must submit an essay on a given topic related to sudden cardiac arrest (SCA).

Description: Scholarships are open to graduating high school seniors and current college students who are at least 50% Asian and/or Pacific Islander ethnicity.

All Majors Scholarship

Description: Scholarship is open to students enrolled as a freshman, undergraduate or graduate student at an accredited college or university for the Fall 2016 semester. Applicant must submit an application and short essay on why they chose their major.

Description: Scholarship is open to graduating high school seniors and current undergraduate students. Applicant must take a nine-question survey and submit an essay on a given prompt related to communication.

Description: Scholarship is open to graduating high school seniors and current college students with a 2.5 GPA or higher. Applicant must submit a blog post on how technology has changed their relationship with other people.

C.I.P. Scholarship

Description: Scholarship is open to students age 17 years of age and older who plan to start a program of higher education within the next 12 months or who are currently enrolled in a program of higher education. Applicant must submit an online form and a short essay on their primary goal for going to school.
