I am interested in applying for scholarship to help out with the cost of college class of 2018 when should I start.
Hi Janet. While there are less scholarships there for students who are younger than high school seniors, they are out there. I recommend signing up with some of the scholarship search sites – they will point you in the right direction to find scholarships that you may qualify for.
I am an adult student studying to become a social worker. I was unable to study earlier in my life but I am determine to go to college now to study social work so I can help people and advocate for the voiceless.
There are scholarships for adults returning back to school. I am working right now on a list of scholarships for “non-traditional” students (students older than 25). In the meantime, here is one scholarship for adults returning to school – Because College is Expensive Scholarship. The deadline is June 30, 2016.
My son is going to the University of Texas in the fall of this year. Are there any scholarships available for him?
Hi Anna! There are definitely scholarships available that he may qualify! Check out all of the scholarship lists I have on my website – here are the scholarships with May 2016 deadlines (https://jlvcollegecounseling.com/2016/03/24/scholarships-with-may-2016-deadlines/) Many of the scholarships out there are for graduating high school seniors and current college students. I wish your son luck!
Looking for theatre, performing arts, and music engineering scholarships.
Hi Teri,
I don’t have many scholarships for theatre, performing arts, and music engineering. But, you might find some here: https://jlvcollegecounseling.com/scholarships/scholarships-by-major/performing-arts-scholarships/
Good luck!
My daughter is a junior in high school can you point me in the right direction as far as scholar ships for when she graduates. Thank you
Hi Francisco.
As you have probably seen, there are less scholarships out there for high school juniors. However, they are out there. Here is an easy one she can apply to – All About Education Scholarship. The deadline is April 30. I am also currently working on a scholarship directory on my website and there will be a list for high school juniors. It should be live by the end of the month and will make it a little easier for her to find scholarships 🙂
My Daughter has been excepted to Spelman College. Her career interest is Broadcast Journalism, but will be an English major @ Spelman. I am a single/separated parent looking for scholarships she may be a candidate for.
Thanks~
Hi Donyell,
Congratulations to your daughter on being admitted to Spelman. Here are a few lists of scholarships where she might find scholarships she might qualify for:
https://jlvcollegecounseling.com/scholarships/scholarships-by-major/communications/
https://jlvcollegecounseling.com/scholarships/scholarships-by-major/social-science-scholarships/
I am also currently working on scholarships for students based on location, race, hobby, etc. They should be live on my website by the end of May.
Lastly, have your daughter apply to scholarships that are open to all majors.
I wish her luck!
My daughter is graduating with a 4.0 from junior college. Can you send me information regarding scholarship.
Hi Terry. There are many scholarships out there. I recommend that you check out my scholarship lists here: https://jlvcollegecounseling.com/scholarships/ In addition, consider following my blog to be notified every time I post. In addition to college admissions advice, I share a lot of scholarships. I wish you daughter luck!
Thank you very much for this list. The only improvement I would recommend is to have a printable version.
Thank you for your comment. How would you suggest I do this? Would it be better if I listed the URL so you could see it? I currently don’t do that because I feel it clutters the pages.
Another reason I don’t make it printable is because all of my scholarship lists are constantly growing as I learn of more scholarships. If someone prints out the list and works from there, they might miss out on many scholarships.
Again, thanks for your comment 🙂
My daughter is has been accepted to study pre-nursing in California. Are there scholarships available to study pre-nursing?
Hi Sharon. Your daughter should be able to find some scholarships she can apply here: https://jlvcollegecounseling.com/scholarships/scholarships-by-major/nursing/ I also recommend that she applies for scholarships that are open to any majors. I wish her luck 🙂

Hi Michael. Unfortunately I don’t know of many scholarships for studying outside of the U.S. However, there are scholarships out there for international students to attend U.S. colleges. Here is one: FormSwift Scholarship Program -http://formswift.com/startup-scholarship
I am working on finding more scholarships for international students, so check back often to look for scholarships. In addition, I am going to send you an invite to follow my blog.
