There are thousands of scholarships out there. Some are large scholarships that are well publicized, while others are lesser known. My goal is to share some lesser-known scholarships with my readers every Saturday.

Description: CollegeWeekLive is hosting their All Access Event on Oct. 29, 2015 from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Eastern Time. Applicant must login and connect with admissions representatives and current college students from at least five institutions to be entered into the scholarship contest.

EESC STEM Poster Contest

Amount: Up to $200
Deadline: Nov. 16, 2015
Description: Contest is open to students in elementary, middle, high school and college. Contestant must create and submit a poster on the category “STEM Careers.”

Amazon Student Scholarship

Deadline: Nov. 20, 2015
Description: Scholarship is open to Amazon Student members who are full-time undergraduate students at an accredited, not-for-profit U.S. college or university as of the fall of 2016, or who intend to be full-time undergraduate students in fall 2016. Finalists will be selected based on GPA, community involvement, and leadership experience. Finalists will be invited to complete an essay to advance to the final round.

Description: Scholarship is open to high school seniors and college students who are legal residents of the Untied States. Applicant must make a video that shows a place that is meaningful to them that can only be accessed with a vehicle.

Youth Noise Scholarship Program

Description: Scholarship is open to students currently enrolled in a high school, college, university, or trade school. Applicant must create a 2-5 minute video explaining how new ideas will shape the world around us, and why education is the key to creating a brighter future.

SOY Scholarship

Deadline: Nov. 23, 2015
Description: Scholarship is open to children or grandchildren of current ASA members. Applicant must also plan to declare Agriculture (or discipline in the school of Agriculture) as an area of study at an accredited college or university.

Description: Scholarship is open to openly gay, lesbian, bi-sexual, and transgender individuals who are pursuing a career in law enforcement.

Chick and Sophie Major Memorial Duck Calling Contest Scholarships

Description: Scholarship is open to high school seniors. Applicant must participate in a duck calling contest in Stuttgart, Arkansas.

Youth Volunteer Scholarship Award

Description: Scholarship is open to students under the age of 21 years of age who has completed a minimum of 50 hours of volunteer work over the past two years.

Andrew Flusche Scholarship Contest

Description: Scholarship is open to high school seniors who have been accepted into a college, university, or trade school AND students who are currently enrolled in a college, university, or trade school. Applicant must create a public service advertisement video which raises awareness of the severity of the consequences of drunk driving among your peers.

Description: Award is open to female students in grades 5-8 who are involved in or have a strong connection to science.

Defining Theme of Our Age Essay Contest

Description: Contest is open to all who want to share his or her ideas with the contest committee. There is no age limit and is open to individuals worldwide. Applicant must submit an essay between 1,500 and 2,500 words sharing what they think the theme of the 21st century will be.
