There are thousands of scholarships out there. Some are large scholarships that are well publicized, while others are lesser known. My goal is to share some lesser-known scholarships with my readers every Saturday.

Kid, You’ll Move Mountains Contest and Sweepstakes

Description: Contest is open to students who are 13 years of age or older and excels in science, technology, engineering, the arts, or math. Individuals may also nominate a student between the ages of five and 18 who excels in those areas.

A.R.S. Undergraduate Scholarship
Sponsor: Armenian Relief Society of Eastern USA, Inc.
Amount: Varies
Deadline: Apr. 1, 2015
Description: Scholarship is open to students of Armenian descent who are current undergraduate or community college students transferring to a four-year college or university in the Fall.

AFSA High School Senior Scholarship Contest
Sponsor: American Fire Sprinkler Association (AFSA)
Amount: $2,000
Deadline: Apr. 1, 2015
Description: Scholarship is open to high school seniors who are citizens and aliens legally residing in the United States. Applicant must read the “Fire Sprinkler Essay” and then take a ten question multiple-choice test. Student will receive an entry into a drawing for each question answered correctly.

AICPA Foundation Two-year Transfer Scholarship Award

Amount: $3,000
Deadline: Apr. 1, 2015
Description: Scholarship is open to students who have earned an associates degree in business, accounting, finance or economics with a declared interest to major in accounting or an “accounting-related” field at a four-year college or university. Applicant must show proof of acceptance into a four-year institution for the 2015-2016 academic year.

AICPA Scholarship Award for Minority Accounting Students

Amount: Up to $5,000
Deadline: Apr. 1, 2015
Description: Scholarship is open to underrepresented minority in the account profession who is enrolled as a full-time undergraduate or graduate student in an “accounting-related” major and is planning to pursue the CPA licensure.

AICPA/Accountemps Student Scholarship Award

Amount: $10,000
Deadline: Apr. 1, 2015
Description: Scholarship is open to undergraduate or graduate students in an “accounting-related” major who are planning to pursue the CPA licensure.

Buckfire & Buckfire, P.C. Scholarship Program

Deadline: Apr. 1, 2015
Description: Scholarship is open to U.S. citizens currently enrolled at an accredited college or university with the United states who has a disability diagnosis from any person qualified to make a diagnosis. Applicant must submit an essay on how they overcame a personal challenge or adversity in life and what they learned from the experience.

Build U. Scholarship

Description: Scholarship is open to undergraduate or graduate students enrolled in a Product Design, Interaction Design, UX Design, Engineering, or Computer Science degree program. Applicant must submit an essay on a topic related to concept of ownership.

CCNMA Scholarship

Description: Scholarship is open to Latino students enrolled full-time in a California college or university during the 2015-2016 academic year with journalism experience. Applicant must submit an essay, reference letters, resume, and samples of their work.

Champions for Christ Scholarship

Description: Scholarship is open to students who have surrendered their lives to full-time Christian service and are preparing for full-time Christian ministry.

Davis-Putter Scholarship

Description: Scholarship is open to students who are active in movements for social and/or economic justice who have financial need.

Debt.com Scholarship for Aggressive Scholarship Applicants

Description: Scholarship is open to current college students who are applying for other scholarships. Applicant must submit proof of scholarship search and a short letter telling the scholarship committee about themselves.

International College Counselors College Scholarship Essay Contest

Description: Scholarship is open to students in grades 9-11 anywhere in the world. Applicant must submit an essay about a high school class the student would create that reflects their academic values, interests, and outlook on education.

John L. Carey Scholarship

Amount: $5,000
Deadline: Apr. 1, 2015
Description: Scholarship is open to students who have obtained a liberal arts or other non-business undergraduate degree prior to enrolling in a graduate accounting program. Applicant must be pursing the CPA licensure.

Math-O-Vision Contest
Sponsor: Math-O-Vision
Amount: Up to $3,000
Deadline: Apr. 1, 2015
Description: Entries can be submitted by either individuals or groups. Contestants must be legal residents of the 50 United States or the District of Columbia, and be at 13 years of age. Contestant must submit a 4-minutes or less video related to math.

Nicholas Green Distinguished Student Award

Deadline: Apr. 1, 2015
Description: Applicant must be a student in grades 3-6 and a California resident who has outstanding accomplishment in the areas of academics, the arts, or leadership.

Old School Impact Scholarship

Description: Do Something has 10 different ways students can use their skills to improve the lives of adults. For every campaign a student completes earns the applicant a chance to win the scholarship.

Print and Graphics Scholarship Foundation Scholarship

Deadline: Apr. 1, 2015
Description: Scholarship is open to graduating high school seniors or current college students who will be enrolled in a two or four-year accredited graphic or printing program at a technical school, college or university in the Untied States. Applicant must be pursuing a career in graphic communications, printing technology, printing management or publishing.

Project Yellow Light Scholarship Competition
Sponsor: Project Yellow Light
Amount: Up to $5,000
Deadline: Apr. 1, 2015
Description: Competition is open to high school juniors and seniors and college students. Applicant must submit a video that encourages friends to avoid distracted driving.

Swackhamer Disarmament Video Contest
Sponsor: Nuclear Age Peace Foundation
Amount: Up to $500
Deadline: Apr. 1, 2015
Description: Contestants must create a 90 second video on a topic the following topic: “The Imperative of Reaching Nuclear Zero: The Marshall Islands Stands Up for All Humanity.”

Thespian Scholarships

Amount: Up to $1,500
Deadline: Apr. 1, 2015
Description: Scholarship is open to high school seniors and current college students who are active members of the International Thespian Society. Most scholarship require an audition. There are multiple scholarship opportunities, so check website for specific requirements.

Tourism Cares Academic Scholarship Program

Deadline: Apr. 1, 2015
Description: Scholarships are open to graduating high school seniors and current undergraduate and graduate students. Applicant must have participated in a hospitality and tourism program.

Virtual Business Scholarship

Deadline: Apr. 1, 2015
Description: Scholarship is open to students currently enrolled in their junior and senior years of high school. Applicant must be nominated by their teacher and must exhibit excellence in business, marketing or personal finance classes.

Visionary Scholarship Program

Amount: Up to $5,000
Deadline: Apr. 1, 2015
Description: Scholarship is open to high school freshmen, sophomore, junior, or senior students who are United States citizens or eligible non-citizens. Applicant must submit an essay on what college is important to them.
